Lord Ezmar
Hey guys, recently finished my Masters of the chapter boxset for my Apocolypse army idea. I wont bore you with the details but the idea is four different chapters involved in a joint battle, with each chapter having it's own master to lead it. Heres my Overal Masters http://i361.photobucket.com/albums/oo57/Kln0620/AssembledMasters.jpg Heres my Fleet Master Gabrianes (Dark Angels) http://i361.photobucket.com/albums/oo57/Kln0620/MasteroftheFleet.jpg and again http://i361.photobucket.com/albums/oo57/Kln0620/MasteroftheFleetrear.jpg Heres my Recruits Master Rermund (Ultramarines) http://i361.photobucket.com/albums/oo57/Kln0620/MasterofRecruits.jpg and again http://i361.photobucket.com/albums/oo57/Kln0620/MasterofRecruitsrear.jpg Heres my Watch Master Arnerum (Crimson Fists) http://i361.photobucket.com/albums/oo57/Kln0620/MasteroftheWatch.jpg and again http://i361.photobucket.com/albums/oo57/Kln0620/MasteroftheWatchrear.jpg Heres my Arsenal Master Stren (Imperial Fists) http://i361.photobucket.com/albums/oo57/Kln0620/MasteroftheArsenal.jpg and again http://i361.photobucket.com/albums/oo57/Kln0620/MasteroftheArsenalrear.jpg Please comment where you think i can improve and with any tips you may have for me. Thanks in advance Kalon
JetfireUK
I really must get this set as the four models look great. As for the painting - the paint looks nice and even and neat, but I can't tell what the highlights are like - it could possibly be the photos but if not a highlight on each of the figures would make everything pop. One thing which may be nice on the first three figures is to add a chapter symbol on the back of the backpacks. Overall some very nice figures. JetfireUK
One tip I've found for highlighting is to use the edge of the brush on straight edges as it helps give a finer line. You can also paint a couple of lines on a bit of paper first to get some of the paint off the brush first.
1reeper
Well, you had Imperial Fist and one successor, you could've done IF, CF, BT, and one other chapter whose name escapes me at the moment, but I'm sure it was another IF successor chapter, then it would be like a set. revnow
I would reccomend drilling out the barrel on that Master of recruits bolter, and put a wash over the purity seals and the ammo canister in order to create space and detail between the seal and bolter, and individual shells in the ammo clip. Thanks for the tip man i hadnt thought of drilling out the barrel i shall have to do that tomorrow, and i thought i forgot to wash part of that model. Also thanks to everyone else for taking an intrest. Kalon
Isiah
I like 'em too :D. For more character, try a watered down fleshwash ink over their faces to bring out the excellent detail in the castings. And: I... can't... take... my... eyes... off... that... vase... The_Chaplain
dont want to sound like a noob, but which companies do these models relate to? all I know offhand is master of the recruits is 10th company. ^_^
Alys Dwr
looking good! You say your not up to highlighting but the models would benefit from it in time. Until then, get washing! A brown/black wash over the golds and a black wash over the silvers will give them depth. The same can be done over white wingy bits. A simple highlight i've used when learnign to paint skin: take the base skin colour and mix with a small bit of white and apply to the nose. Without doing the whole face it can add a bit of life to the skin tone. The sword your master of the arsenal wields seems to have a rather short handle... Lord Ezmar
dont want to sound like a noob, but which companies do these models relate to? all I know offhand is master of the recruits is 10th company. ;) The Yellow Master is Imperial Fists, The Green Master is Dark Angels, The Blue Master is Ultramarines, The Dark Blues Master is Crimson Fists. It's alright it's not that noobish a question i havent put any chapter markings on them so you werent to know. Kalon
HJL
he was refering to the companies that they are from, not chapters. ive often wondered myself if the titles are given to company masters that have acheived greatness, or if a specific company is also the master of the watch etc etc.
