Hear me now, for I too have seen and heard of the loyalist scum's so-called 'Assault on Black Reach Painting Contest' which leaves no room for conversion work and therefore disallows entries in the name of Chaos glory! I say to you, they are fools! I hereby issue a challenge that will shake theirs to the core! Show us your Black Reach warriors, converted into devoted servants of Chaos: -Any single space marine model from Black Reach (even the dread) -Any conversion work you like with only the following limitation: At least 50% of the mass (don't take that too literally, physics students) of the model (not including the base or basing materials) must be the plastic of that single particular original Black Reach model. So in other words, you can't have an inch tall space marine with 5 inch greenstuff wings but you can use bitz from any other kit or green stuff, just not too much. The aim is to show just what a CSM player of limited funds can do with this cheap box set. -Must actually be something from Codex Chaos Space Marines. Nothing even hinting at loyalisty-ness. The Chosen Champion of the contest will have bragging rights, the praise of our dark patrons (guarantueed improved luck in your games) and anything else the mods can think of as insentive. How would you do the arms dangling or the body twisted etc? Unless he died in a very rigid pose. Anyway, what we're mainly looking for here is examples of how you can turn BR marines into tabletop quality chaos legions. Bogus Posted September 11, 2008 Share Posted September 11, 2008 Here's a terminator I whipped up this evening. The model is of course from Black Reach, and the components are leftover chaos bits from the CSM sprue and the tank sprue for the trophy spike. The arms are from the CSM terminator set. I cut each one off around the elbow and joined them with the existing arm.
