wappellious Posted September 12, 2008 Author Share Posted September 12, 2008 The power weapons are a case of wet into wet for the most part. I sometimes start with blood red, and then mix some black into that (somewhat watered down). I randomly drag the brush through the red base color, letting it mix together semi-transparently. Once the light at dark patterns get established this way, I mix in some orange with the red, and start to paint in the lights. I lighten the 'edges' of the brighter parts mixing in brighter oranges and even yellow. This is very similar to the way I paint the marble on my bases.
