Question icons and Termie squads

I recently bought some Chaos Space Marines (the box of 8) to update my old Black Legion CSM squads.

And i found that there is only one Icon in it of Undivided.

So i'm going to give my second CSM squad that of Khorne.

Or is it advised to swear to Undivided as so many seem to do? The +1 attack does seem very good.

Also per CSM squad is it best to have one or two Plasmaguns? I assume one to keep the prices a bit down?

I also bought a Chaos Terminator Lord and the plastic termie box. Now i noticed that unlike with the five metal Termies i previously had, there is much more choice in customization. (more than one version of a weapon)

I take it, it would be more efficient if once more i take one of each but split all 10 of my Termies (my old metal ones and new plastics) in two squads.

What composition of each squad would be best in such a case?

Also i'm thinking about making my new Chaos Lord either with two Lightning or give him an axe (daemonweapon) and a firearm of sorts. Depending on the troopcomposition, where would i best place him?

A lot of questions i know, but it's best i ask before i start assembling.

Many thanks in advance!

I'm afraid you lost me alittle here and I don't understand your Q exactly.

Splitting the termi's into 2 squads would allow you to send each of the 2 squads to 2 different places if needed. As for comp., in a 5 man squad I like 2-3 combi meltas and a CF. I would only take 10 termi's in a large game 1850+ pts. then I would have to go all out and take 2 reapers (yea, I know somepeople think they're overpriced).

As for the IoK it is good but 10 csm w/ IoK isn't that many fewer pts the 8 brzrkrs, and the brzrkrs are better w/ +1 WS and FC. If you have to use IoK at 1st b/c that's the models you have, then that's fine, it's not like you're going wrong (don't give plasma guns to unit w/ IoK, give them flamers and/or meltas).

The second plasma gun is worth the pts in csm squads

Thanks mainly i was worried due ot the fact i had badly equipped my old termies.

They basically had one weapon of each type (had to, there was no ability to choose what to give them).

So i was wondering what to do with my new plastic termies. Basically once more give each of the new termies one weapon of each and try to join certain types of weapons of old and new squad together or just not use some of my old termies and make one more uniform Termie squad by merging the new Termies with a few of the oldies.

I also suggest using magnets to swap between weapon configurations easily.

Im pretty much in agreement with chillen for the most part. Though i personally love icon of glory as it tends to keep your units from running alot of the time. The way that close combat moral works now, sometimes you can get beat by three and have to take a 7 leadership check, the icon of glory really makes it so you stick around fairly reliably. As far as the terms are concerned, when i run five i usually do 3 or so combi-melta, a H.flamer, and a chainfist. If i run less than that, usually give em the same minus the chainfist as i dont expect them to live.
