I went on a hunt for inspiration for my army whilst my mates were in one of the seminars. I was really impressed with this display. As a result I'm going to make changes to my currently painted units to give them the battle damage patches on their power armour. I noticed a common theme of dual melee weapons on all the Space Wolf armies put out by GW, which I thought was a nice change to the usual grey painted bolter-wielding marines. GW, I thank you for once again firing me up to convert up some more wolves! Alas, my wallet thus curses you and your staff..... I intend to make my second SW army grey, but for that I wanted to wait for the new dex. These pictures are so inspiring... Hmmm let me finish my next 2 bikers, and my MotW model and I just think I might start working on a 13th Company.... Or by those just posting their own misgivings. You dont have to believe me if you dont want to haha, im just posting what ive been told. If they have a copy of the codex now and are going through testing then you do the math about how long it will take. Also bear in mind they will have to sculpt the new minis etc. i think what Dark Bjoern said about June/July may not be too unrealstic. When i next see my friend ill mither him a bit more for some info. Also Blood Claws will no longer have headstrong and will instead be given Furious charge, and will be upped to WS 4 but BS 3 will stay the same. I can't wait for the dex but i'm afraid they are going to shaft the wargear like every other army, and take my character depth away. I've been using a Rune priest w/ frostblade, storm shield, and chooser of the slain, for years but I don't see that being one of two or three "standard" option packages. I'm happy to use my third ed. rules in the fifth ed. world. I'm not hurting enough to risk ALL the fluffy things that I've got. Anyone else stop the Lash of Submission with a wolf tail?? I have... and it won that game for me ;) But don't get me wrong, I NEED the GW fix like every one else because who knows, It could be just as good only updated for the times. here's hoping... Coming back to 40k after shaking off the habit for 5 years I decide to try and take some time and paint up an Ultra force to a decent standard. And now I see this. This has just rekindled my love of space wolves and made me want to paint and slowly replace my current ones with a new force. I'm only 1/4 way throught the smurfs and spent lotsa money and now I want Space Wolves. Dang. I see they are grey, but what colour do you suppose they are, painting wise? Maybe it's just me but I think I see a slight blue tint to them. It's much more noticable in the vehicles. Wolf89 Posted September 24, 2008 Share Posted September 24, 2008 Space Wolves Grey is the standard as of now (it's the baby blue hue that you see most SW armies painted as). Most of mine are repainted to the old pre-heresy look since my love for 13th company for the past 6 years has flooded into my normal Space Wolves. I enjoy not having people poke fun at my army looking like a baby boy's room. I got tired of tearing them to shreds with my talons... The darker shadow grey is what some people have switched to in transition from the Space Wolves grey, this is still a blue tint, but much, MUCH darker. Another crowd favorite is the new"er" fenris grey from the foundation set, similar to shadow grey.
