ferrum proeliator
Now as we all know, the Iron warriors form the battering ram of the chaos legions, but, if memory serves me well (and it usually does) don't we (I mean Iron Warriors players) get basilisks. My reason for asking this, is the new CSM codex is incredibly vague and doesn't really mention this. So, do we still get basilisks, and do I need to use the guard codex for rules concerning these?? It'll be a pain in the ass if we don't, cos then the imperial guard can really start to get one over on me. Monkeychunks
Nope, Basilisks are gone. Another casualty from the generalisation of 3.5. Still, you could probably use it like a Vindicator, or convert up some spikes and make it a Defiler. ferrum proeliator
wow that's incredibly annoying - basilisks were one of the reasons why I like the Iron Warriors - hopefully they will return. Master Of Malfeasance X
When the chaos codex came out, someone asked what happened to all the legions and some GW employee shot his mouth off saying that rules for the founding legions would be released. He didn't really say when or in what form (WD, codex, smoke signals, etc) but I seem to remember someone saying they were on the way 'at some point'. Defilers are better than the basilisk anyway. Just put your earthshaker platform on legs and give it some DCCW's. As for getting a defiler, I probably will just go for the plane bog standard one instead of converting one to take an earthshaker. That or I'll bolster my ranks with tons of lascannons *reachers for iron warriors bits box* haha still I got 1000 pts already, I'm sure losing a basilisk won't hurt me too badly- and a good job I didn't rush out to buy one last weekend, and I'm glad I bought a vindicator instead haha Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/146263-iron-warriors-heavy-support/#findComment-1696383 Share on other sites
delta13
what do you guys think is the most effective Iron warriors heavy support choice that fits both game play and fluff? azironlegion
I would say the vindicator and obliterators. Of course when I envision Iron Warriors I also see traitor guard with their russes and basilisks pounding away at the enemies fortification. Not to hijack the thread but can chaos still take traitor guard which would then allow the use of bassys and russes? I use termies and vindicators to go with the fluff. But, I see the Iron warriors taking any kind of heavy support albeit heavily modified to suit their needs.
