davidren2401
I take it we've all seen this by now: http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_4nzgPbHlNo4/SMrh...plastic-002.jpg Is anyone else a tad disapointed at how fantasy-ish it is? I was personaly looking forward to a model that would fairly depict page 11 of the chaos dex but alas it seems not. It's a good model no quesstion, I just dont think it would have been to much to ask for an extra sprue with some warped power armour. Iron Hide is an option in the daemon dex after all. Drudge Dreadnought
Its a cool model alright, but yeah, its a Daemon Prince. Not a Chaos Space Marine Daemon Prince. Bloodstorm
To me, it looks like a chunkier, uglier Be'lakor, no power armor is also a turn off, but to each their own Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/146289-new-plastic-daemon-prince/#findComment-1696477 Share on other sites
Jarulek
Not really a suitable model to represent a CSM Daemon prince, but I like the overall model. The sprue contains God-specific bits much like the plastic Chaos Spawn sprue, so maybe it has some bits to make the metal daemon prince more like his patron. Nicili
Hmm...i don't like it right off the bat. However, with that being said, the fact that it is plastic conjures some inspiration for conversion work, much easier than the metal models. And by taking a bit of inspiration from the previous model, I think many conversions could be produced. I think I actually will look forward to that aspect. Xenocidal Maniac
I think it looks pretty cool. The waist is a bit small and the lats are massive, making its proportions look weird, but it's pretty impressive overall. Let's wait and see what other parts it comes with. It might have a high degree of customizability like the Chaos Spawn. I'll probably be using it as a Bloodthirster anyway. I cannot stand the current model. Smurfalypse
I would have to agree with just about everyone here. Its a nice plastic mini, but definitely not made with chaos space marines in mind. Maybe there is a sprue or something somewhere, never know. Magnus Thane
Same here. I considered eventually using a DP in my force when it's size has grown enough. But i think i'll change that plan. It wouldn't suit the look/flair i'm going for with my BL. Namely lots of Black power armor. Not to mention it's a pretty model but not 'cool'. Wow, never thought i'd hear that... And whats wrong wi the Blood Thirster??? Looks alright, but, as other people have said, not very marine-ey... sexiest_hero
Looks like it was made to cover paemon prices for CSM codex daemonce and fantasy damons, so you can go buy those armies too....... Captain Malachi
I believe it is meant to be the new codex:deamons prince, so it isn't meant to be marine-ey. Brother Nihm
There's always greenstuff (if you're handy with it) with which you can make armour. I'd love for it to have been a 40k version though. Bloodwave
As soon as I can get my hands on it, that guy goes straight to my Fantasy demon army. As for 40k demon army, well... Why not? I agree that it doesn´t look mariney at all, but iron hide is not mandatory, it´s an option, and fluff wise, even in a 40k demon army, not all DP comes from the CSM ranks. It can be a normal warrior or even a "warrior of old" that made it to daemonhood. Not to mention the possibility of converting it adding some armor... either a warped power armor, or a barbaric plate armor with spikes or a barroque armor as ornamented as you want... As long as it has some fairly degree of metal over his demonic flesh you can say it has iron hide. Maladon
As I understand it, the Daemon Prince set is also going to include armour plates. This may get me to start a daemon army after all. not sure. aioannou
we really aren't happy with anything we get are we? i personally think it will be a great bit of kit, and as such will give brilliant opportunities to have something different to the bog standard metal one i see far too bloody much! Lord Humongous
Hopefully they included a sprue with options that make it more CMS like- say SM style shoulder pads, helmeted head, maybe a big chain sword..... Given how flexable the carnifex kit is, they could easily have the mode go fantasy / 40K depending on how you use the kit.
