Good day for GK

After hearing that the astartes got +2 str power weps I was really worried even if they were only on honor guard. However after reading the new codex and seeing the price of an honor guard with a relic blade is more then our terminators and they have a lot less then our GKT. for 4 points less we get terminator armor vs their artificer (invuln save teleport) our stormbolter. free TH and SS, +1 WS, and shrouding just to list the ones that are better or usable in every battle.

Anyway my point is that we may see some more people taking us as allies and subsequently more GW attention. and maybe an update?

I'm ecstatic over the fact that not only are my GK better but finaly CHEAPER!

No they didn't, SM Terminators are still the same cost as before. The assault cannon and cyclone are more expensive, but the heavy flamer is nice and cheap - cheap enough to maybe consider.

 

Still, it's nice to see the wailing and gnashing of teeth has subsided. It was starting to verge on the ridiculous - the real issue for the =][= isn't some concept of "ownership" over a weapon (because if that's so, than SoB better give back their power armour and bolters to the Marines and that's just for starters) but being left out for the new functions for "identical" equipment (though if you check the "picture fluff" for the weapons in the new dex, the storm shield has a small entry of "Mark II generator"... smooth. Not.) but more important is the lack of love fullstop.

 

I always considered GKT to be better than normal Terminators anyway - for a modest mark up you got a lot more bang and could actually start to think that maybe you were getting some value for points with them. Powerfists are great, but hitting after everyone else isn't so fun. The NFW is a great middle ground.

 

Then there's the awesome models to consider too... recent blurb has GW saying "maybe sorta" for updated =][= dexes (there's a thread on it somewhere) but I give them the squinty look for that. I'll believe it when I see it, however many moons in the future that may be.

yes because just paying for the armor and not the SB and the PF is completely valid and not asking too much.

there are other prices that SM will complain about now

Calgar is now worth exactly the price of ten GKPA

and they also upped the price of marines now by 1 point :)

and that not all special units can be upped to termi honors but now only can get artificer.

Im glad were not getting the new SM wargear stats and costs. Quite a few bits of our wargear are better than SM, hoods, force weapons, thunder hammers etc. I would rather wait for a new codex then wait for a wargear update.

Only calling what I hear. Look, see? Here's someone who thinks that vanilla Marine Terminators don't have good value for points:

I too believe that Grey Knights have a good deal on Terminators. Only 21 points more than a power armoured Knight, and 4 points less than a Justicar, mixed thunder hammers for free ... (I still want a Grey Knight special character that allows Terminators in every Force Organization slot, or barring that, as many as they dare give me.)
