ShinyRhino
This situation came up last weekend. I had an attack bike near the edge of the table, trying in vaid to fire its multimelta into the back of a Chimera (darned 1s and 2s!). There was a Russ behind the bike, and my opponent wondered what would happen if he tank shocked the bike. Moving the bike 1" away on the board edge side would have put it off the table. I guessed that I'd have to move the bike to the opposite (inner edge of the tank) side, since you can't legally move off the table. It never happened, as my opponent decided to do something else entirely. However, how should it have happened? Was I destroyed by being forced off the table, or was I displaced to the opposite side? Thanks for your help. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/146472-tank-shock-at-the-edge-of-the-table/ Share on other sites
WarpSpawn
The way I read it, you move them the minimum distance required to place them 1" away from the tank, as well as maintaining coherency. Seems perfectly reasonable that this may sometimes not be the shortest route out of the tank's path, when you include these extra conditions and the fact that tank shock in no way states it can ram units off the table.. I believe so as well, it says models move out of the way by the shortest distance. Worth noting is that only models that would have ended up underneath the vehicle when the vehicle reaches its final position are moved. So a simple tank shock wouldn't have necessarily meant that the model had to move.
