GI Joker
Hi all! I decided to try my hand at The big B. He is (obviously) very WIP, I am going to get some lightning claws from a friend tonight and then I will start painting him. I will post updates as he starts coming along. I've though about putting a servo skull on there somewhere because I haven't had an opportunity to use one anywhere yet, but I'm afraid it will look too cluttered. C&C are appreciated. and his shoulder pad: Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/146625-belial/ Share on other sites
blood_raven_240
It's lookin good, yeah... The twin LC's are gonna look wicked! Maybe you could use some guitar wire and have the Servo Skull coming from the back of his armour somerwhere? GI Joker
That is an excellent idea, Blood Raven. How thick of wire should I use? I may have some laying around somewhere collecting dust next to my guitar, and if not, my wife teaches flute lessons at a music shop so I'm sure I could get her to pick some up for me. Lestat
The Chaos teminator lords lightning claws would look good. As for the servo skulls, use one with a long trailing wire hanging from the bottom and a small dab of super glue to attach it to the top of B's armour - just above the shoulder plate. Wraithwing
Was just about to mention the Chaos Lord Claws, they'd look imba. Other than that, a very nice conversion so far. Looking forward to seeing more. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/146625-belial/#findComment-1701841 Share on other sites
GI Joker
Okay, added his arms. It wasn't as easy as I thought it was going to be due to the FW shoulder pad not fitting quite right. The purity seals bumped up against the cable running along his arm and the ridge along the top bumped up against his back. The end result is that he is holding his arm out at an angle. Not to worry, though, some green stuff and all is right with the world: Also, the sword stuck in the ground in front of him was in the way of one of his claws so it had to be moved. I just used the extra green stuff from his armpit to build up around it a bit: I'm toying with the idea of giving him a wing on one shoulder. Right now I am leaning towards not putting it on and the wife agrees. What do you guys think? JetfireUK
I like the figure so far but I wouldn't add the wing as in my eyes it makes the figure too cluttered on that side. As an idea how about adding one of the censors (not sure if that's spelled right?) from the DA sprue on his waist on the opposite side? I hope that helps? Dreadnought Baraziel
Which sprue did you get the loincloth from? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/146625-belial/#findComment-1703122 Share on other sites
GI Joker
I agree that the wing does make it look to cluttered. It was in my original plan for making him but after I put him together I realized that it didn't really work, I guess I was still just kind of hanging on to the idea. I did put a censor on his waist around back: I got the tabard of the company champion torso from the command squad sprue. I just clipped it off and trimmed it up. Now I'm off to prime him and his merry band of Termies. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/146625-belial/#findComment-1703175 Share on other sites
Zaku
Looks really cool. But not sure about the head.... (ok, the evil grin is nice -_- ) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/146625-belial/#findComment-1703225 Share on other sites
GI Joker
Ok, I finally have time to paint him, I have the day off tomorrow and the wife is working all day so hurray for me. I'll post some pics as he starts to come along. I am just not sure what color to paint the tabard. Right now I am stuck between DA Green, black or white. What do you guys think? For most of my deathwing I am going to use grey for the details like in the codex but for him I think I am going to use more metallics. I'm not so sure for the angel, though. Right now I am leaning towards grey to make it look like stone. Oh, and the grinning head is the tank commander one. He doesn't look so smiley in person, although maybe he is just really happy about fighting heritics. illusion
I really like him especally as i will be working on my own version very soon. painting wise for all my deathwing I have also gone with grey details but have painted the bits on top gold. As for tabards and things like that I have gone for dark angels green as it nicely ties them into the rest of the army when I use a combined force. Great work so far Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/146625-belial/#findComment-1707816 Share on other sites
GI Joker
Here we go, update time. first is a set of test arms. They were both sprayed black, painted Dneb Stone and then had a Gryphone Sepia wash applyed. The one on top was dry brushed Bleached bone, the one on bottom with Dneb stone again. I've decided to go with the Bone dry brush. Here is Belial before the dry brush... and after, with a few details: and an AOBR Termie with an arm swap: Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/146625-belial/#findComment-1707997 Share on other sites

Marius Perdo
Looking good. I did one with Lysander as the base, the Forge World Dark Angel resin terminator shoulders, Carab Culln's Forge World resin storm bolter arm, and a plastic assault terminator right thunder hammer arm holding the old metal terminator captain's massive powersword (and the plastic dark angel banner). He then decided to go with necrons instead. Oh well... Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/146625-belial/#findComment-1708101 Share on other sites
GI Joker
Okay, all done on the paint job, all I need to do now is paint the base that won't warrent a new post so these will be the final pics and a bonus with his assualt cannoner friend: Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/146625-belial/#findComment-1708200 Share on other sites
