Drudge Dreadnought
On page 66 of the rulebook it says "Only infantry models may embark in transports (it is worth specifying that this does not include jump infantry) unless a Codex book states otherwise." On page 85 of the Chaos Codex under jump packs it says "Models equipped with jump packs are Jump Infantry as in described in the Warhammer 40,000 rulebook." But also on page 85 under wings it says "Models equipped with wings move in the same way as Jump Infantry as described in the Warhammer 40,000 rulebook." Therefore, winged lords/sorcs are not jump infantry, they just move as them, and so can be put in transports? Is this the correct interpretation, or just a foible? I would assume its just a problem with how it was written because they are both the same point cost and should be interchangeable, but then again they do have completely seperate entries in the armory and that is the only difference in them rulewise. Would i be being a rules lawyer for following this to the letter and sticking my winged lord in a rhino? Leethal
Yes, you would. A shiny rules lawyer, not as fancy as others, but yes. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/146689-jump-pack-vs-wings-and-transports/#findComment-1701435 Share on other sites

TheDarkApostle
Well, from the GW CSM FAQ: Q. Does taking 'Wings' classify a model as jump infantry? A. No, it simply allows the model to move like jump infantry. Note that the model must actually be converted to have a pair of wings rather than a jump pack. Notice the part I underlined. the jeske
only why , if by GW rules you cant techniclly "counts as" a jump pack as wings ? I love GW rulings , because they are always taken from a very close perspective . But yeah shoting/moving like something doesnt make you that thing [it doesnt even give you same special rules ].
