Thousand Swords 3rd Company

Barret

Recommended Posts

Oh my. I had no idea.

In my defense, the T-Swords' symbol is a sword over an "M", as in the Latin numeral for "thousand". The Aryan one appears to be an "N", but there is a disturbing similarity. It's entirely coincidental!

Haha Barret on the defensive. <_<

Nice work can't wait to see them finished. Always nice to see new chapters popping up out of the AOBR boxes, I've seen probably 10+ so far just new made-up chapters and they all look totally different even though they came from the same box, yours is no exception. ;)

I totally see the "M" over the "N" in there... no need to be on the defensive, you still don't have a crown on it, not like your avatar has a crown either... :D

Haha, love these guys, "DOOM" simple and tells the enemy exactly what's going to happen. :P

That's the idea! Same with the 6th Squad Marine and the Assault Sergeant, who is probably my favourite right now.

CompanyOfTheFallen~ Do you have any pics online? I'd love to see what someone else has done with the same name. :)

Wolf89~ Thanks! While these guys aren't brand new - the fluff for them has been around for a couple years, and this is my second go at an army of them - the AoBR box is definitely a great starting point for a new army.

I spent Sunday getting almost the entire army basecoated, until my primer ran out halfway through the second Dread and before I could get the last four members of the Assault Squad, and one of the Command Squad. I also finished 6th Squad's Rhino as a tester for my vehicle camo. I'll get some pics up tonight.

Its a really nice scheme Barret, my only criticism is (funnily enough) on the red - it looks a little patchy, possibly as a result of a wash. A thin layer of the basecoat (red gore?) on the highest areas of the armour should sort that out a treat.

Hello,

I have several pics online but in quite bad quality.

For example:

http://tabletopwelt.de/forum/attachment.ph...mp;d=1212681850

almost all finished miniatures:

The colours have some similarities with the "thousand sons" so I took the name from there.

this is the thread in a German forum

I worte a huge story of the chapter founding etc but I do not like it anymore, so I'll have to write a new one. B)

But this is your thread and I am eager to see some progress :)

Give me two weeks to fail my CFA exam then I'll paint up a Thousand Sword. Since you've already got a combat squad or two, maybe I'll just build someone cool, like a veteran sargent and give the paint scheme a good going over. I think you need multiple thin coats of paint. It takes longer but you get better results. Go look at how I highlighted red on the Brotherhood of Darkness guy. I don't advice going to orange or yellow in your case, but I think you could get a smoother dark red without needing to do any extreme edge highlighting.

I'm never going to join the cult of the dry brush. Now for terrain dry brushing works swell. It also works well for fir and chainmail, but I like layering and edge highlighting for power armor.
