Windswept
Ok in the SW dex it says that one model may take WEAPON options from the Space Marine Dex Scout Options. Now in the space marine dex says that one model may be given term honors so they can shoose from armory. Does that mean a scout from SW army could carry a Thunder Hammer? I interpret it as they can choose from the weapons listed in the scout options not choosing Term Honors as that is not a weapon. My tanks keep getting smacked by a sarg with TH after operate behind enemy lines and i want to know if this is legal. If it is its a great option if its not then i think the scouts become a bit more realistic for their point costs. Thanks in advance Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/146848-sw-scouts-question/ Share on other sites
Dark Bjoern
Welcome to the Fang, Whelp. Get us some mead and listen. One of our SW scout packs can choose weapons from the options for SM scouts from C:SM. The Termi honour isn´t a weapon option and only aviable for SM vet sergeants. So far you´re right. What happens to you was the following. We don´t have sergeants and termi honour. But we have Wolf Guard Pack Leaders. They are similar to vet sergeants and they can have a TH from our own armoury. It´s a bit difficult, the WGPL is part of the scout pack but is a seperate entry in C:SW and not listed in our scout entry. So, yes, it was legal what your opponent had done. Windswept
Thanks for clarifying that. how does that affect the FOC. Elites for thh WGPL and then an Elites slot for the Scouts? or does it only count as one? Such a different setup with HQs im not really certain how the FOC works for SW. Ill look around at other lists and see what i can see. Commissar Volker
It's two Elite choices, one for the scouts, one for the Wolfguard. Ulfgar Hero Slayer, my Wolfguard scout leader usually has a Thunder hammer, very nice for cracking tanks or cowardly characters who lurk at the back of armies. Max_Dammit
But the wolfguard slot is not limited to the one WG, you can take between 1 and 20 without having to get a 2nd slot Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/146848-sw-scouts-question/#findComment-1703196 Share on other sites
Dark Bjoern
Yes, All WG are counting as one elite choise, it doesn´t matter how often you split them. You need one HQ for every started 750 points. Not more, not less. 1-750 points = 1 HQ 751-1500 points = 2 HQ 1501-2250 points = 3 HQ 2251-3000 points = 4 HQ and so on So in larger games you will face more HQ then in a normal SM army. Windswept
heh i feel dumb then ... so based on FOC if you have 9WG and WGBL in Land raider thats 1 elite slot or 2... and if you add Scout squad with WGPL thats 2 more slots for 4 or you are at 2 Elite slots being used? and based on FOC you can only have 3 ELites in an army Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/146848-sw-scouts-question/#findComment-1703557 Share on other sites
WG Vrox
You used up 1 elite slot and 1 elite slot only when you choose to put a WG into your army. So the answer to your question is 1 elite slot which means you have 2 more slots open to use. Wolf89
heh i feel dumb then ... so based on FOC if you have 9WG and WGBL in Land raider thats 1 elite slot or 2... and if you add Scout squad with WGPL thats 2 more slots for 4 or you are at 2 Elite slots being used? and based on FOC you can only have 3 ELites in an army 1. The WGBL isn't an elite, it's an HQ. 2. WGPL, WGBG are both elites, they are taken from the same "section" and the total counts as 1 elite choice, no matter how you mix and match, from 1-20 is 1 elite choice. 3. With your WGBL with WGBG in a land raider you have 1 HQ and 1 elite so far, then adding a scout squad with a WGPL that's a total of 1 HQ (WGBL), 2 elites (WGBG, WGPL)/(Wolf Scouts). Hope that answers your question... So if you look at #3 you could add in another elite choice, either being a dreadnought (always a crowd favorite) or even another scout squad.
