number6
List of Official 40k Quotes The guys over in the B&C Librarium are attempting to collect a list of official quotes on 40k. As you can guess, it is a fairly epic task and so now they're asking for your help. You can help create the premier quote collection on the internet if you're quick  Many chapters have little to no quotes right now, so we need you to find us some in the canon material you possess. They need any nice quotes that are found in your codex or any other fluff resources hanging about. They do not want homemade quotes and editing your own made up quotes into the article can, and will, lead to official warnings. So far, they have got all of the quotes from the 4th Edition Space Marine Codex, the 4th Edition Black Templars codex, most of the quotes from the 3rd Edition Rulebook and the majority of quotes from Index Astartes/Malleus. So if you've got something like the old Angels of Death codex lying about, why not help the guys out? Or even that more recent 4th Edition Rulebook? Here is the List so far. Hit that Edit button to begin adding official quotes. What are you waiting for? Break out those old White Dwarfs and Codeii that have been stashed away in dark places for far too long and have a look for anything that could be relevant. Melissia
Okay, I just submitted a change that includes lots of quotes from the Ecclesiarchy and the Sisters of Battle (along with a specific section for the same). These are from, primarilly anyway, Codices Sisters of Battle and Witch Hunters, and Dark Adeptus. Iron Father Rik
I added an Iron Hands quote, the extract from the Scriptorum of Iron, but it didn't show up. Is it on a submission/acceptance basis? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/146856-official-40k-quotes-project/#findComment-1703295 Share on other sites

I know its a DA quote but cant find the source, if anyone knows where its from please edit it in. Added Salamanders: "I can pulp your flesh and snap your bones in less then a second, and without so much as lifting a finger. What is the power of technology compared to that?" Vel´cona - Chief Librarian of the Salamanders. Besdies, nothing happened when I edited - is it waiting to be approved by mods before the post is allowed to be altered? Red Lost Soldier
Added most of the ones from Codex: DH. "Better crippled in body than corrupt in mind." - Anon (Codex: Daemonhunters) "You must face the truth squarely and without flinching from duty. Our enemies are mortal no longer. Mercy for such as they is a chimera; self deception is its only ally. Dedicate this weapon, given unto your hand at the behest of the Emperor, to their destruction. Regard its function as your only duty; you live only to bring cleansing fire. Take up your rod and staff, your armour and psycannon, and go forth." - Galbus Heer, Lectures to the Ordo Malleus. (Codex: Daemonhunters) "The daemonic are without number, and their legions span the entire galaxy. But faith does not tire. Should it take us an eternity, the Ordo Malleus will find and exterminate them all." - Lord Hephaestos Grudd (Codex: Daemonhunters) "The weak will always be lead by the strong. Where the strong cry out against fate, the weak bow their heads and succumb. There are many who are weak and many are their temptations. Despise the weak for they flock to the call of the Daemon and the Renegade. Pity them not and scorn their cries of innocence - it is better that one hundred innocents fall before the wrath of the Emperor than one kneels before the Daemon." - First Book of Indoctrinations (Codex: Daemonhunters) "I carry with me an Inquisitorial Seal. It is a small, unassuming object contained in a neat box of Pluvian Obsidian. It is a modest thing. Relatively plain, adorned with a single motif and a simple motto. Yet with this little object I can sign the death warrant of an entire world and consign a billion souls to Oblivion." - Thraviam Flast, Inquisitor of the Ordo Malleus (Codex: Daemonhunters) "Look upon this hammer I hold before me, for it is far more than a weapon. It is a symbol of the Imperial justice that smites the diabolic enemies of the Imperium wherever they are found, just as I. Though it has banished even a mighty Greater Daemon to the hell from which it was spawned, it remains true and pure, just as I. Furthermore, it is a symbol of my ordoer and my office, of the authority granted to me by the divine will of the Emperor. By that authority, I am commanding you and your entire regiment to obey me without question or hesitation. Advance, or it will not be daemonic blood that stains my hammer this day." - Inquitisitor Lord Hephaestos Grudd, addressing Colonel Molian of the 223rd Gudrunite Rifles. (Codex: Daemonhunters) "Do not presume to judge me or the methods I choose to employ, petty-minded fool. You cannot comprehend the magnitude of the task I have undertaken, nor the consequences of my failure." - Inquisitor Lichtenstein, declared Excommunicate Tratoris 998.M41 (Codex: Daemonhunters) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/146856-official-40k-quotes-project/#findComment-1705446 Share on other sites

Melissia
Why the hell did you lump Ecclesiarchal quotes in with the Inquisition? <Deleted by the =][=>it. Red Lost Soldier
They are from an Inquisition codex, so I put them in the Inquisition section. The author of the quote is less important than the content or the meaning. But if you feel you can do a better job by all means go for it, without insinuating naughty words behind false code. What naughty words and false code? I don't quite get that reference. And in my edit I had already included it as a separate section at the time. Nor did it misspell "Adepta Sororitas" ^_^ And since that seems like a serious suggestion from your part, I put in another edit that would do just that. Regardless, they weren't all from an Inquisition codices-- there were many from novels and from the origonal Sisters of Battle codex in 2E. Unfortunately, Codex: Witch Hunters has few quotes. flintlocklaser
Eh? What naughty words and false code? I don't quite get that reference. Your post just above, which says: Why the hell did you lump Ecclesiarchal quotes in with the Inquisition? <Deleted by the =][=>it. The "Deleted by the =][=" looks like what the board does when the profanity filter eats something. So that's the 'naughty words and false code' reference. Melissia
Ah, didn't even notice that. I don't consider the other version of "darn" to be major profanity myself (IIRC, that is what I origonaly put)-- it's on the level of hell anyway, and that was allowed ^_^ Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/146856-official-40k-quotes-project/#findComment-1708190 Share on other sites
Sigismund Himself
Why the hell did you lump Ecclesiarchal quotes in with the Inquisition? <Deleted by the =][=>it. Maybe because I spent over 3 hours last night putting all the quotes that had been submitted via edits and replies in posts, before having to split the article into 5 different parts. Maybe because I staggered off to bed at a quarter to 12? Nevertheless, thank you for the edit(s).
