WG Vrox
- A quick search of the forum didn't get me any results so I titled this to what I have a question on Can a Rune Priest receive +1 Attack if he has a powerfist in one hand, Stormsheild in the other while using the Chooser of the slain as his second CC weapon? Thorgrim Blackwolf
No, he can't if he is using the power fist. In 4 edition rules you could as I ran a Rune Priest with a Frost Blade, storm shield and chooser of the slain. In 5 edition, the Rune Priest needs another power fist to benefit from +1 attack. I am pretty sure it is still valid for things like frost blades and power weapons. WG Vrox
Ok, so the best 155 points I can spend would be Rune Priest on a Space Marine Bike, Frost blade, Storm Sheild, Chooser of the slain. I stay in close behind my Land Raider casting StormCaller all the way to their frong lines then pounce like a rabid wolf on all those vile heretics of the underworld. saphius
Yes.... Except forgo the expensive bike, and just stick him in the tank. And get him a RC and TDA instead. Wolf89
Yes.... Except forgo the expensive bike, and just stick him in the tank. And get him a RC and TDA instead. I prefer the SS, CotS, Frost axe variant, you gain 2 more to your invulnerable, you're cheaper, and you have a nifty cyber raven to negate those pesky genestealers from infiltrating, or even worse... outflanking! :P Chooser of the slain is one of my favorite pieces of wargear and I get the occational "Ugh, broken old wargear" speech from people and I enjoy proving them wrong with all our other faults. :P He's always taken in my 13th company, if you really want to field him for regular space wolves, the bike isn't a bad idea at all, I still have one on a bike. :P Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/146886-storm-sheild-chooser-of-the-slain/#findComment-1703726 Share on other sites
WG Vrox
Having a SS, Frost Axe, along with the CotS gives me my 5 As which is great, but having the bike gives me +1T, the ability to rapid fire twin linked bolters with a BS of 2, add in the extra mobilty of moving 24 inches if needed and I think I will stick with my SMB. 5S 5T & 5A 4+ inv in CC 3+ inv when turbo'd for 155 points is alot to pay for 1 model, but what a sweet model it is. First... it's a BS5 TL bolters since the rune priest has a BS of 5... maybe you wrote 2 because you need a 2+ to hit? Second, the storm shield gives you 3+ invlunerable in shooting and CC, so you don't have to worry about turbo boosting at all (so you can still shoot  ). He is a sweet model, but a WGBL does the same thing, costs 20 points less and can have fenrisian wolves (no need to turbo boost so why not) giving him ablative wounds... you loose stormcaller, but trust me on this one... with those wolves with him you gain a hard hitting unit that can't be singled out by a pesky power fist model. Not yet that codex isn't out (officially) BTW try a Wolfguard battle leader with assaultcannon, frostblade, tda, Wtt, Wtn, Wp out for a change, the look on the opponents face. It is official, I have my codex already, and so does half my gaming group...
