+ARTWORK+ Die Tau Scum

Recommended Posts

Well, here is about a little under two hour color in of one of Mr. Nipples old pencil sketches, it started out a lot more epic but eventually got cropped down due to laziness. Still relatively new to this whole digital art thing, this was more of a color study than anything else. First piece I am actually kind of proud of that I've done on the computer despite nipples saying his original drawing sucks. B) Enjoy. As always, comments and crits welcome.

I always loved that drawing.

I really feel that that is how space marines should look if GW had gone for any kind of realism. The look of the space marine really conveys a very strong feeling of "I´m gonna kick your effing arse, and I´m gonna laugh at whatever stunt you´re gonna pull to try and dodge my can of whoop-ass" - just because of the menace and power the added bulk adds to him.

Ah, dead Tau. I'm pleased. :)

Great coloring. I like bulky Marines, they should look like they're wearing a tank. And the just plain merciless, unrelenting, uncaring menace of this one is awesome...

I like the glow effects as well.

the left leg (marines left, not ours) is all wrong. it's lacking perspective and the hip is displaced in relation to the main body (needs to be brought forwards, downwards, and rotated inwards). above the waist though is looking excellent, glowing fist is looking very good too.

Seconded^

I just think that he is too "round" in multiple ways - slightly too fat, slightly too curvy. I would say that the head should be bigger, the torso longer, and the stomach slightly narrower compared to the chest. Other than that, it is great! I love the powerfist and the exploding xenos head (blue blood - ). The colors are great as well.

...and a butt the size of New York, god. I actually like the head size, stays truthful to actual marine dimensions as opposed to what the models suggest. But the coloring is awesome, alot of contrasts. I would say the only thing to improve on is the tau since it doesn't draw your eye like the marine does, just is kinda bland in the face of that power.
