crazycow
So I felt like making a dread again. This one will be strange. First some pics and then a question. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v472/crazycow/DSC01061.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v472/crazycow/DSC01064.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v472/crazycow/DSC01062.jpg Now this is in rough stage and needs a ton of gs. But there is a problem. As I decided to give him TLautocannons but wont use a standard arm. I chose the ones from IG. Now my first thought was to attach them to the chainswordarm but I have doubts. Any input where the two cannons would look great, Any and all input is good, if for nothing else then for bringing ideas I wouldent have though about. ironloki
Is this going to be a Chaos Dread? Looks very interesting either way. I would personally go with the lascannons going over the shoulders, as suggested earlier, or perhaps give 'it' extra arms - which extend into lascannons, similar to the way you have the chainswords sprouting from the talons - coming from the midriff section. You could also have the lascannons added onto the base, rather than the model itself, and say have it being held by an underling/baby monster creature/follower/servitor/robot automatic turret. Zeller
Agreed, over the shoulders. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/146981-carnage-the-dread/#findComment-1705216 Share on other sites
ShinyRhino
I'd either have them growing out of the torse UNDER the chainsword arm, or out of the gut where youhave that lower ball-joint thing. Over the shoulders is just too tau for my tastes, plus you might run out of room, depending on how thick its neck will be. Panzerkopf
I'd have the autocannons coming out of its stomach. You seem to be going for the bio-mechanical freak look, so having the cannons in a weird place would be fitting. Another consideration that was brought up before was keeping the beast looking uncluttered. Any spare arms or weapons going over the shoulders would make it look bad; like someone poked bits into a ball of green stuff. What's it going to be anyway? crazycow
Over the shoulders seems to be the most logical (and liked) one, but Ironlokis idea just seems so wonderfully wierd. I shall build a small mutant something to carry its firepower. It seems like the strangest thing to have. And from a practical point I can Make several different weponbabies and keep my options open. But keep on coming with ideas. This wont be my last model and they seem to just get stranger.
