dark_inquisitor
 Starting my first foray into conversion and I plan on doing an Inquisitor Lord. I'm at a loss as to where to start it. I've been scouring GW sites looking at their online stores for the peices I like, and I have a general pose in my mind, but still overwhelmed. Any advice from anyone? :P Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/147002-conversion-for-inquisitor-lord/ Share on other sites
Khrangar
It might be helpful to post the ideas you have and possibly some of the bitz you found interesting so that people can get an idea of what you're after. Right now it just sounds like 'I want to make an Inquisitor, please help', which is all well and good, but a bit vague. If we have something more concrete to work with, I'm sure we can help make an Inquisitor Lord. Also, welcome to the B&C. Khrangar *If that came off as sounding a bit snooty or off putting or whatever, I apologize, I didn't mean it to sound that way. l33t h0b0
OK dark I am with khranger by telling us what you got in a bitz box will help us give direction other wise we may recommend something that is far beyond what is possible below I posted a couple of images of Inquisitor type character I made for playing well Inquisitor in 28mm these should help you get started for ideas and note the lack of greenstuff...they don't always need greenstuff http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f44/meorks/Inqusitior/Picture123.jpg http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f44/meorks/Inqusitior/Picture095.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/147002-conversion-for-inquisitor-lord/#findComment-1705052 Share on other sites
dark_inquisitor
Well, I'm looking for info of a more general nature. I'm going to be going out and buying the bitz I want for this project. such as: is it best to use the parts you have or go out and buy parts? Do you have to draw first? If you do go out and buy the parts, do you already have to know what you want, or do you browse and then decide? If you get a pewter base model (i.e. onne part for the bodyand you only have to attatch 1 arm) how do you change the pose like bending a knee, etc.? sorry if I'm being vague, I just need the basic starters info. Lone Scout
The way I have gone about this same process is to look at GW models (I even considered Rackham ones too) on the net. I also looked at http://www.coolminiornot.com/browse Do a search for inquisitor, pick something you like and use it as a template. If you want you inquisitor running I'd surgest running legs from assualt marines or berserkers and remove the chaos icons. Unless you are skilled with greenstuff and rotary tools bending and chopping metal legs is quite a challenge(actually it's not the cutting it's the getting it back together that can go haywire ) Prince sigvald, the new chaos model that can be found posted on B&C is what I'll be starting with. Good luck. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/147002-conversion-for-inquisitor-lord/#findComment-1706215 Share on other sites
rewolf
Maybe if i run you through how i did it, it might give you an idea of how to approach the project. Well I started off by looking through the daemonhunter's codex, looking at some of the inquisitors and just imagining them with different parts. I already had the idea of a duel-sword weilding character, and just tried to imagine how the models could be easily altered. I decided i really liked the helmed guy with the sword and bolter, then set about looking for a sword to replace his gun. After simply browsing the models on the GW store site i decided i liked the emperor's champion sword. So i bought it, shopped it off and stuck it on. Bish-bash-bosh a simple yet effective conversion. How that helps a little.... Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/147002-conversion-for-inquisitor-lord/#findComment-1706221 Share on other sites

dark_inquisitor
okay, so through tinkering with drawings on my own, I'm a little clearer on what I'm doing. My new question is: How do you make a leg bend? and if o the same process, how do you change the way an arm is bent?
