AOBR Terminator conversion

Well I've been making a new list for a 1750 SW army that takes on the hordes that seem to be piling up at the store often. I see lots of orks recently (due to AOBR? no... couldn't be) as well as lots of troop heavy with light armor such as rhinos, dreads and speeders.

So my list can be viewed in the List section, so far only lars has given me advice, but his is one of the ones that I really take to heart. :D

This Terminator is to show off my new color scheme for this army, as well as to show you the conversion I did to my AOBR terminators (only this guy painted and done so far).

His head is from Khorne Bezerkers, chest from SW's and the AC and chain fist are from the old"er" WGBG in TDA blisters (I've got too many for my own good).

Hope you enjoy.

The idea for this army is to make it look pretty good from across the table, but to keep painting time down so I can get a bunch of guys out quickly. This army isn't meant to win best painted, just meet the requirements, plus maybe a few extra points.

Not a bad job at all. I never could get the hang of using lighter colors of paints on the higher areas. I just base, wash, then dry brush... painting details later. See attached.

Also, thanks for the kind words about advice. I do what I can.. :D

Last one isnt finished, but shows off the wash/drybrush better.

My problem is basing. I decided to use fortress grey for the base, thinking it would look different (yet similar) to their armor, but it looks like I didnt bother to base at all. I think I might throw snow over them.

I'm glad you like my highlights. :)

For basing I just do a coat of Space Wolves gray (I found a use for all my bottles of it now -_- ) then paint in some "ice" lines with ultra smurfs blue, then do some highlighting in enchanted blue and white, then cover the Space Wolf gray areas showing with some foam snow (from vallejo) and swirl the base around in the snow basing from GW.

I think I still went a little too dark on the "middle" sections, and should resort to a closer match to my highlights, either way this guy's done, 5 more to go.
