boreas
Well, I decided not to wait on the models! Using a few models I grabbed on the web (woohoo, got that LE captain with the crest for... 10$!), some bit I had lying around (Commander combi-weapon, Termi libby combi-plasma, combi-plasma cobbled together from bolter and plasma pistol, IG flamers, etc...). I removed some arms or weapons (never liked that big poweraxe on the veteran, I kept the twin-lightning-claws to convert my company captain, etc...). I didn't bother with special ammo clip as what I tried "overcrowded" the models. So here are the results after priming. I know it's gritty, its GW primer! Still the best primer I could find around here (although I did find a can of Krylon yesterday after priming my squad!). Hope you enjoy! That's why I cut le combi-melta a bit on one model (model "combi-melta 2) and might do the same on the first one... boreas
OK, a first batch painted!!! Yeah! The first images are models "in the process". I paint them with a very diluted knarloc green, than pick out the trims and details with almost unthinned blood red. Metallics are Mitryl Silver, purity seal bleached bone and leather Khemri brown. Finally, some Dawrf bronze where needed. I then apply a generous wash of Devlan Mud. After some retouches to the red, they are ready to go. It's not a professional job by far, but it looks very good on the tabletop and is very fast!!! Anyways, here are the pics: The pre-washes models: http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_KYc5-ZYzLRk/SOF0xE6aEfI/AAAAAAAAAOQ/DC2HO0mcA28/s320/IMG_0963.jpg http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_KYc5-ZYzLRk/SOF0xp0a6CI/AAAAAAAAAOY/cm_fgkQ3FEQ/s320/IMG_0964.jpg http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_KYc5-ZYzLRk/SOF0eHo6LdI/AAAAAAAAANw/Jjc514rrg20/s320/IMG_0965.jpg http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_KYc5-ZYzLRk/SOF0eMykFcI/AAAAAAAAAN4/EGM3ZN1B4pg/s320/IMG_0966.jpg I really meant a heavy wash!!! http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_KYc5-ZYzLRk/SOF0eRcJoLI/AAAAAAAAAOA/d8kCTedLff4/s320/IMG_0967.jpg http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_KYc5-ZYzLRk/SOF0es9do1I/AAAAAAAAAOI/ErYE_COUaeo/s320/IMG_0968.jpg The finished models: http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_KYc5-ZYzLRk/SOFzqQb_fvI/AAAAAAAAANQ/MLSTUVNgw8U/s320/IMG_0969.jpg http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_KYc5-ZYzLRk/SOFzqkqUsoI/AAAAAAAAANY/F3Z9srhgst0/s320/IMG_0970.jpg http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_KYc5-ZYzLRk/SOFzq3ycOdI/AAAAAAAAANg/Bku6fcAp6Ro/s320/IMG_0971.jpg http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_KYc5-ZYzLRk/SOFzqxU6-KI/AAAAAAAAANo/xsO8n9IygEY/s320/IMG_0972.jpg Hope you like them. By the end, I should have 14 sternguards. Two sargeants, 4 combi-plasma, 2 combi-meltas, 2 combi-flamers and 4 bolters. No identical models!!! elijahdprophet
Very cool. I like the grittyness of them once they get the wash, they look good and sinister.
