Canoness Luzza gives the finger to Avatar of Khaine

Hot dice rolling, well. Here is one that was horribly aggravating, and than turned into a blessing.

Game I had today, against the new marine codex.

1 Lone Veteran Sister Superior stood resolute against 8 Tactical marines. Not only did she survive the thrashing for 3 turns of combat, she also consolidated back onto the objective. After my Seraphim squad arrived to lay the beat down on the marines. Game was a draw in the end, SM certainly have a major advantage with the new codex.

Those big squads are going to hurt us for sure. But how was it otherwise? What works for them and what doesn't?

Mission was capture and control.

After we deployed our objectives he decided to swap his 160pt commander for Khan. It was a friendly game, but this did bother me a bit in the back of my mind. 6 Tactical squads of marines, 2 Dev squads. 6 Plasma Cannons, 6 Plasma guns, and 8 Missile launchers. All 6 tac squads broke into combat squads. He deployed both Dev squads and 4 heavy weapon combat squads.

So I spent the game killing off the Devs and the 5 Plasma Cannons near my objective. Than had to deal with 4 Combat squads and Khan coming in right beside my objective.

The new Codex:SM gives the upgrades at such a cheap cost, plus with all the little extras they got (both grenades, and a pistol) they can quickly encroach close to horde style. I had to set(sacrifice) an exorcist close to that table edge just to make sure he had something to assault before trying to pick on my Sisters guarding the objective.

It was such a frustration of a game. Don't get me wrong, I love a challenge, but fighting up a hill, is different than fighting up a mountain cliff.

In hindsight, and to add to the title of this thread: "Veteran Sister Superior Melody gives the finger to Khan and his boys"

Here is the brave woman herself.

Switching your army list around after you have agreed to a game, have set up the table and deployed objectives is a big no no in my area. I'd say that he was trying to get an unfair advantage over you and I wouldn't play him again if he does this quite a lot. I would probably go as far as calling him a cheater, as he is specifically tailoring his list right before deployment just so that he has a better chance of winning. I suggest you letting him know that it is not okay to change his list right after deploying objectives, who knows? he might just stop doing it. If someone tried this against me I would probably hit slap them with the BBB. LOL

He's been talking about creating a new army (and repainting a ton) based around Khan, so I don't think he was cheating. It did give him an extreme advantage. Either way I managed to pull out a draw from a very uphill (shear cliff) battle.

Khan and his group of 5 tac marines got ripped apart by a counter assaulting Seraphim squad. So, if nothing else, a moral victory for me. Possibly even a Victory points win too, oh well.

In my honest opinion, after playing beasts of chaos as my first warhammer army ever, I will and continue to be a troop guy. If you can help it take 1-2 "bosses" as needed and grab more troops, their quality is often second to none...

AARRGG I RESSURRECTING THIS THREAD!
