WG Vrox
In putting together a list I was going to run my WGBL with WG in termi armor DP, 3 ACs..... but then I realized they can not hold objectives can they! We are talking about an IC with an elite guard, no troops. am I just thinking wrong on this or does this put our wolf balls in a power vise? Sgt. Dark Bjoern
You´re right. They can´t. Only troop choise can hold objectives. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/147518-no-obj-w-wgbl-wgs/#findComment-1711121 Share on other sites
JCarter
GW's not a wargame company, they're a model company. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/147518-no-obj-w-wgbl-wgs/#findComment-1711142 Share on other sites
Wolf89
No terminators can hold objectives in 5th edition. From what I hear, masses of blood claws solve this problem. If you want to field WGBL with WG in a drop pod I find that using a few squads of grey hunters in drop pods help support them extremely well. Grimfoe
True they can't hold objectives, but it's not the end of the world. They can certainly contest the hell out of an objective. In addition, I find that unit particularly good at destroying 2-3 (or more) of my opponent's troops. You ever play blood bowl? I used to play dwarves. The thing about dwarves in Blood Bowl is they beat the hell out of you, but don't score very much. You win a lot of games 1-0 or 2-1. That's how I use my wolves. I wipe out most or all of the troop choices on the other side and then win with one or two objectives that I hold. Wolf89
I enjoyed both Norse (for the look... I wonder what look I'm talking about. ;) ) and skaven. I play the same way though, I've been using WGBG's in TDA almost every game in 5th and they just keep making me love them more. They drop down, kill a whole squad, attract half their army, they survive, keep going, and move on some more. OnlyInDeath
Skaven gutterrunners all the way! But yeah, both bikes and termies make excellent units for just clearing opposing troop choices off of objectives so that your scoring units count as more. As for the masses of BC's, I can see this both working well and also failing miserably. BC's are best as an offensive force, so I think that GH are still your defensive units of choice. I use them to hold my objectives and to lay down surpressing fire for my BC's to advance under. Works pretty darn well.
