WIP Flesh Tearers

Frostbit3

Recommended Posts

I just picked up the AoBR set after being away from the game for years. Decided to roll with the Flesh Tearers as I love their fluff.

Having not painted in several years, thought I'd practice the color scheme on the termies since I probably won't use them in my actual army.

Here's a few pics taken with a webcam /shudder. So the colors are a little mucked up. C&C welcome. Any thoughts on basing given the color scheme? Colors/textures more than big rocks and rubble is what I'm after.

I am also wanting to convert the AoBR tactical marines a little bit. Want to make them a little more evil looking. So far I've just filed the arrows off the pads. I picked up some khorne chain axes and swords, which will help my assault squads, but doesn't do much for my tacs. I am tempted to try out some chain bayonets. But any other ideas? I'm a little stuck. Thanks!

Looka likw you are off to a good start. I love the blue as a highlight for ther balck, but I think it is a little bit too strong, it may just be the picture.

Chain bayonets on the bolters would be a very nice touch for more sinisiter looking.

Another thing you might do is paint jags / slashes on the helmets, across the eye so it gives a little more " edgy" look.

Anyhoo, my thoughts

Thanks for the feedback so far!

I think the heaviness of the blue is just a result of the picture, and harsh lighting. The model is a lot darker in reality. The "blue" is shadow grey, and the edge highlights are thin enough that you can barely make out a subtle color difference from gaming distance. I used like 2:1 chaos black:shadow grey, 1:1 chaos:shadow, then a fairly fine line of shadow on the edges.

Any other thoughts on converting the AoBR tac marines?
