Shortsonfire79
Hey guys, seeing that this is an almost 'Strictly Space Marine' website. I'll send you all this tutorial. I originally posted it on 40K Terra. So I'm just copy pasting the entire thing. Heres a cool conversion I tackled last night at like..12 PM. A Mentor Pattern Bullpup Bolt Rifle. http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j276/shortsonfire79/MentorBullpup.jpg We be makin one of those. First get your bolter http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j276/shortsonfire79/IMG_1335.jpg And you're going to want to cut it up (duh) Keep in mind, whatever you cut up, keep it. To cut it up, use your knife to score along the lines over and over, for the roundish areas, you can roll the blade. Like so. http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j276/shortsonfire79/IMG_1336.jpg After you do that, you're going to want to set up what exactly you're going to be doing. You can file down all the areas where you had cut, so that everything is smooth, which is what I did. Get a strip of plasticard, and glue it to where the grip will be. http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j276/shortsonfire79/IMG_1337.jpg That plasticard is about 2mm thick, so I shaved it down, to about....I dunno, 1-1.5 mm. http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j276/shortsonfire79/IMG_1339.jpg After that, you'll want to glue the grip on, make sure its aligned right. http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j276/shortsonfire79/IMG_1340.jpg Remember that barrel that you saved? Glue that on next ( I did the tip thing first, which is why the barrel isn't exaclty centered with the bolt action.) Get some plasticard rod, mine has a 3mm diameter, it probably doesn't matter what yours is. Glue that on underneath. http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j276/shortsonfire79/IMG_1341.jpg Next, the handle (I'm having a major mind blank on these names) http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j276/shortsonfire79/IMG_1343.jpg Then, the cartridge, if you look in the picture, the cartridge is almost touching the handle, so feel free to put it as close as you want. I plan on modeling the guy to be pointing with his other hand for this gun. His left on the grip. http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j276/shortsonfire79/IMG_1344-1.jpg Don't forget to drill out the barrel/diffuser/flash suppressor/silencer. Whatever you want to call it. http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j276/shortsonfire79/IMG_1345.jpg http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j276/shortsonfire79/IMG_1346.jpg You're essentially done, if you want, you can try to cover up the cracks with Green Stuff, then make the little grooves. I'm too lazy to do that. http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j276/shortsonfire79/IMG_1344.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/147955-modelling-how-to-make-mentor-pattern-bolters/ Share on other sites
Shortsonfire79
The Mentor P36 Plas. http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j276/shortsonfire79/M36Plas.jpg Start with your bolter. Clean off the flash. http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j276/shortsonfire79/IMG_1347.jpg Find yourself a Plasma Gun, cut off the shoulder guard. http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j276/shortsonfire79/IMG_1349.jpg Find yourself a Plasma Pistol, be it the one with the arm or not. Cut it off the hand if necessary. http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j276/shortsonfire79/IMG_1352.jpg Cut off the muzzle for the bolter, and the thingies on top and bottom. http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j276/shortsonfire79/IMG_1354.jpg Cut off the grip for the bolter. http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j276/shortsonfire79/IMG_1355.jpg Take your Plasma Pistol, and cut and square off the handle part. http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j276/shortsonfire79/IMG_1353.jpg Get your grip and glue it to the base of the Plasma Pistol part. Shave the back off. http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j276/shortsonfire79/IMG_1357.jpg Get some Green Stuff, (Size shown in comparison to the gun) and use it to fill the gap for fusing the pistol to the Bolter, I didn't use superglue, but you might want to. http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j276/shortsonfire79/IMG_1358.jpg Make it neat http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j276/shortsonfire79/IMG_1359.jpg Glue the muzzle onto the gun (mine isn't very neat yet) http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j276/shortsonfire79/IMG_1360.jpg Glue the shoulder guard onto the gun http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j276/shortsonfire79/IMG_1361.jpg Drill the flash holes. http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j276/shortsonfire79/IMG_1363-1.jpg http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j276/shortsonfire79/IMG_1362-1.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/147955-modelling-how-to-make-mentor-pattern-bolters/#findComment-1716547 Share on other sites

Montuhotep
Whats an AGL? Auxiliary Grenade Launcher - a new piece of kit for the Marines, limited to Masters/Captains - Krak or Frag grenades. This reminds me of the stubby M203 launcher. Shortsonfire79
I thought that regular marines could get grenade launchers ( I REALLY need the codex) And for some reason, I haven't been getting email responses for this.. Brother Styphus
I think I've seen this pattern done using Kroot rifles. Does anyone know what I'm talking about, or do I have to make one? Maligoare
I think I've seen this pattern done using Kroot rifles. Does anyone know what I'm talking about, or do I have to make one? I do have a bolter/grenade launcher using a Kroot Rifle somewhere about, but pics will have to wait until I can find it. It isn't a bullpup pattern though!
