TheMournival
Now that the new SM Codex is out, it shows that the transport capacity of the Land Raider (Basic one, not Crusader) has increased to 12 models (remembering a Terminator model counts as 2 models). Does this mean the Chaos one will too? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/147988-transport-capacity-of-chaos-land-raiders-now/ Share on other sites
King Tiger
the Chaos Land raider does not change, unless FAQ'd Space marine rules are for Space marines Chaos space marine rules are for Chaos space marines Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/147988-transport-capacity-of-chaos-land-raiders-now/#findComment-1716875 Share on other sites
Lord_Caerolion
Nope, it's staying the same. Hell, they aren't even changing the capacity for the Dark and Blood Angels, so why would they for us? davidren2401
Unfair as it is it's staying the same. Our Vindicator's won't get Siege Shields either despite being made from the same kit Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/147988-transport-capacity-of-chaos-land-raiders-now/#findComment-1717068 Share on other sites
Khestra the Unbeheld
Unfair as it is it's staying the same. Our Vindicator's won't get Siege Shields either despite being made from the same kit Our Vindis don't even get the pintle weapon the SM one does as basic issue. If GW was willing to short us even that much, I doubt they'll bother retconning the Land Raider into the Imperial version just to give us space for one more Terminator/two more Marines. :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/147988-transport-capacity-of-chaos-land-raiders-now/#findComment-1717078 Share on other sites
chillin
And our dakka pred cost 15% more then the s/m one withe the exact same equipment. And the s/m dex is full of ways to make varied, fluffy and effective army list depending on what chapter you play. I don't know how GW justifies such glaring differences in one marine codex over another marine codex? Welcome to C:scm's 4.0 I wish 1/4th as much work, effort and thought went into our dex as the s/m dex Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/147988-transport-capacity-of-chaos-land-raiders-now/#findComment-1717083 Share on other sites
Baragash
I wish any work, effort and thought went into our dex as the s/m dex instead of basically copying the lame 3.0 dex Edited for reality. Basically, the new (and welcome) design philosophy of the SM Codex means we (and most other people) all get a load of :D to live with whilst GW cycle through what hopefully turns out to be a consistent design approach through the whole edition. The above badly constructed sentence was brought to you by GDub Proof-reading a subsidiary of GW Ltd. gorgoth
having only just been released, I am willing to wait a month or so for GW to publish some update or what have you for The other chapters, Now I would think the chaos landraider should be increased. Welcome to C:scm's 4.0 I wish 1/4th as much work, effort and thought went into our dex as the s/m dex I understand and feel your pain, but the bright side of this whole situation is the fact that the template GW is using to make codex's has changed. The form of DA, BA, Chaos are gone, now we have Ork's and the Space marines codex. I am glad to say that they have changed their ideas and are putting forth good effort and i look forward to other codexs they do in the future. the jeske
. I am glad to say that they have changed their ideas and are putting forth good effort and i look forward to other codexs they do in the future. you play sm right ? Because I know that I wouldnt be happy if the situation was different . If it was the sm codex with one good list and chaos with more then a few [better or worse but still good ] lists for legions . Sure one has to live with that , I mean what can we do . Not play sm players [who are more then 50% of all players]? Wait for the codex change in X years ? Or maybe house rules stuff . All that is impossible in a normal play field . also its nothing new . Remember how eldar , tau etc were hardcore tournament armies and then they brought DA . That was a shoker , for those poor bastards in green . I dont think that I ever felt sad for other players because of the new dex . Even the chaos dex was lame etc but it had the Lash build . DA didnt have that . Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/147988-transport-capacity-of-chaos-land-raiders-now/#findComment-1717250 Share on other sites
Sheff
I read in the Land Raider fluff in the new C:SM that because the machine spirit is so strong, less crew and equipment is needed to maintain the Land Raider. How this explains the differences in BA, BT and codex marines is beyond me however. Mini Bar, Cable TV, Jacuzzi... St. Andrews cross, hot wax station, a live donkey. . . B) If I had to put a fluff reason for it, I'd say there was a post-Heresy internal modification to the crew compartment that never got passed on to the Dark Mechanicus. The AdMech might have figured out a way to fabricate some of the innards with some microengineering (maybe something gleaned from the Razorback STC that was implemented in M36?) :P Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/147988-transport-capacity-of-chaos-land-raiders-now/#findComment-1726779 Share on other sites
