AnthonyVG
I've decided to make some sniper rifles for my scouts (since I'll rarely use them I didn't want to spend $$). Below is my first one, I apologize for the bad camera angle. http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_jvQ7Yi5uej0/SOvhmOBkj7I/AAAAAAAAAKM/nFnuxNP7ISw/s320/DSCN0644.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/148307-rate-my-diy-sniper-rifle-please/ Share on other sites
Brother Cambrius
Looks good brother. Perhaps you could use some form of "rest" on the front of the barrel like the heavy bolter does. Add that and they'll be perfect. Cambrius Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/148307-rate-my-diy-sniper-rifle-please/#findComment-1721005 Share on other sites
Khrangar
I think some sort of arm rest would be good to add. The brace thing to put against the shoulder when firing. Imperator Mos
A high powered rifle needs an ergonomic stock in order to stabilise it during firing. If you don't brace it, you wont hit anything. Also, to house the buffer assembly. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/148307-rate-my-diy-sniper-rifle-please/#findComment-1721054 Share on other sites
BrianBlessed
Hey looks good. I'm assuming you already have a stock planned, judging by the way the arm is positioned so far back. Shiodome
i think the barrel should be maybe 20% shorter? on the tabletop 'appendages' sticking out a long way over the edge of the base generally look quite odd regardless of the reason. and something underneath the barrel, joining onto the stocky 'handgrip' would help the barrel to look like a more natural part of the gun. just a small rectangle of plasticard would do (about 3mm x 1mm, maybe more *shrug*) e.g (2mins messing with mspaint <_< barrel shortened, and 'grey' to indictate what i meant with plasticard) http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a396/r3c/DSCN0645.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/148307-rate-my-diy-sniper-rifle-please/#findComment-1721407 Share on other sites
