Bring us your most hated lists!

HQ:

Vendread: 205

AC, HF, EA

*Drop Pod*

Troops:

2x7 GH: 360

MG, PW, 6x bolters(each)

*Drop Pod* (each)

Elites:

Ironclad: 185

HF, HF, Seismic Hammer

*Drop Pod*

Total: 750 exactly

I counter your termie cheese with REAL dreads! none of this TDA pansy stuff. :P In all seriousness though, you can bring in 2 dreads on turn 1, have them flame the crap outta whatever, then bring in the troops to mop up on turn 2 while the dreads just smash around. So yeah, this would be the kind of cheese I would want to bring to this cheese fest. 2 dreads, 14 troops, 4 drop pods (yay 8 shots a turn from SB's!).

WGBL - FB/AC - TDA, RC, WP

WGBG1 - AC/PW - TDA, RC, WP

WGBG6 - BP/SS - RC

WGBG7 - BP/SS - RC

Drop Pod

GH (6) - All Bolter

BC (8) - 1PF

750pts even.

Simple theory really, the troops run as fast as they can to wherever you land the pod to back you up, while your terminators unleash 4 ACs (!!!!) into your enemy turn after turn. If they shoot back, you have your Wolf Guards to shield them (really, PA with BP/SS.. what else are they there for?). In CC, the 4 terminators should handle themselves well.

This is as cheesey as I can get, and its all thanks to Capacity 12 Pods.

Total Army Cost: 750 (on the button)

Not saying this is superior to Omar's list... oh who the hell am I kidding of course it is! ;)

-note, WGBL will join the Rhino squad with flamer (more assaulty than shooty)-

-Also note that if this was nilla marines then dear god could I create a cheesier list with 3 vindis... master of the forge hiding behind all 3?...

Wolf Guard Battle Leader

-Frost Blade, Wolf Tooth Necklace, Bolt Pistol, Frags, Wolf Pelt

Total: 95

Blood Claw Pack (15)

-Power Fist x1, Power Weapons x2

Total: 238

Blood Claw Pack (15)

-Power Fist x1, Power Weapons x2

Total: 238

Grey Hunter Pack (8)

-Meltagun, Power Fist, Power Weapon, Frags

Total: 179

Total: 750 points on the nose!

Ok so this list has some serious firepower lacking but at 750pts I rarely encounter too many heavy weapons or tanks, however for 750 points your facing 39 Space Wolves all armed to the teeth for close combat, including no less than 3 power fists, 5 power weapons and a Frost Blade! With the rules of 5th Edition giving everyone and their mother a cover save and the ability to sprint its very hard for most people to stop the storm of Space Wovles bearing down on them and once they get into close combat, particularly the Wolf Guard Battle Leader, there's no stopping the slaughter! Plus with a Melta gun and the power fists the occasional bit of armor shouldn't be too much of a problem hahahaha!

You can all just bow out now.. I found a way to put 4 AC's in a single drop pod.

Good God Lars, you truly are evil! That much concentrated killyness is unbelievable!

*checks scanner*

By Russ's left butt cheek, it measures over NINE THOUSAAAAAAND! :D

Sorry, had to say it Lars. :pinch:

I'm not going to lie, I'm really glad we're doing this, now I want to make lars' 4 AC in a pod routine to add in my larger lists! :woot:

Well to answer with another idea, I figured that with all this drop pod this and that, I wanted to show the cheddar can always be brought to the field in the reliable form of vehicles...

Gentlemen, I give you... The Fist of Russ!

Not to mention its the only thing with enough transport capacity. And remember you dont have to buy the storm bolter on your rhino.

I didn't pay for it, my AB lists it still. (I edit my own programs for it and try to make life easier by listing what's included)

GH (6) - All Bolter 108 points

BC (8) - 2PF, Flamer 142 points

750pts even. 766 points

-Points in bold added in by me-

hate to do this to you Omar but I did the math myself, and my math doesn't lie... you're disqualified again! :D

Hopefully you can compare points and see where we differ and we can fix this problem... I want to field that 500 point 4 AC unit but it's SOOOO hard to justify... I'm tinkering with giving the PA WGBG combi-flamers... for 4 AC shots and 4 flamer templates when they land... dear god...

You know, I would love to see a 3 on 3 750pts each game with these three lists vs just about anyone else. :D

You should work the points to fit chronus in there.

Each of these lists uses one area that the wolves have an advantage in. No matter what you want from the Wolves of Fenris, you got it. Dreads? Check. More AC's than you can shake a land raider at? Check. Better tanks than an armored company? Check.

I love this chapter!

I know great isn't it?

Ok time for my "I win" army list:

Wolf Guard Battle Leader

-Frost Blade, Wolf Tooth Necklace, Bolt Pistol, Frags, Wolf Pelt

Total: 95

Blood Claw Pack (15)

-Power Fist x1, Power Weapons x2

Total: 238

Blood Claw Pack (15)

Total: 750 points on the nose!

you know, by doing this, you guys are building a database of modular space wolf army sections.

each idea you guys have fits into one HQ slot of any sized force that is divisible by 750 :P

this needs to be edited, and stickied.

The 750 force chart wasn't intended at all... :D

Like I said, I'm loving that we're doing this, I've gotten so many ideas, plus it made my digital electronics go by so fast because the whole time I was brainstorming ideas! ;)

Lemme dig up my Codex and I'll come up with a Fire base list for the thread.

750pts Fire Base List

Wolf Guard Battle Leader: 109pts (HQ)

Terminator Armor, Assault Cannon, Power Weapon, Wolf Pelt, Wolf Tail Talisman

Venerable Dreadnought: 170pts (Elites)

Grey Hunter Pack 2x: 163pts (Troops)

7 Hunters

Plasma Gun, Plasma Pistol, Power Fist, 5 bolters, 5 close combat weapon

Long Fang Pack: 162pts

3 Long Fangs, Pack Leader

3 Missile Launchers, Plasma Gun

Capable of long ranged death at 48" with 4 Missile Launchers, and more than capable of killing at 24" and 12" with Assault cannons, plasma, and bolters.

okay I just had to participate ;)

what's worse than having a gigantic wave of guns dropping from the sky? waves of invulnurable T5 berserkers!!

Bikes

Wolf Guard Battle leader: 116

bike

Frost Axe

Pistol

Blood claw bikers x8: 330

2 pfists

Flamer

pack leader w

twin LC

WTN

Blood claw bikers x 7: 210

2PF

Pack leader

Pfist

Combi Plasma

Runic Charms

WTN

750 pts, turn one sees them all turbo boost and they(18 models) all get 3+cover saves :D of course against other CC armies you might be a little less close so they can't charge you (no inv in CC). still theyre all t5 so they'll be really hard to kill off.

what do you guys think

It's fast, it's scary, but it's also not following a minimum FOC ;) I wish it was, because the thought of all those bikes makes my heart happy. Can you tweak it to add some troops beav?

Seriously though, I'm loving this thread just for the sheer terror it would bring. 3 vindis in a 750 battle? Gahhh! Evil wolf, evil!

Ok, I'll do a list in honor of Bjorn Darkwolf, the man who loves his mega IC packs, and frankly I want to show just how nasty the PA WGBG can be. I dont know about the "I Win" aspect of this, but you could definately have some fun with it:).

HQ:

Wolf Lord: 403

Combiflamer, frost weap, WP, boltpistol

4x Fenrisian Wolves

WGBG: 53

PW, SS, WP, WTN

WGBG: 53

PW, SS, WP, WTN

WGBG: 35

Combi-flamer, SS

WGBG: 35

Combi-flamer, SS

WGBG: 35

Combi-flamer, SS

*Drop Pod*

Troops:

2x6 GH: 346

MG, 2xPP, frags (each)

*Drop Pod* (each)

Ok, so you have a little bit of the IC squad of doom here with 4 flamers popping off the turn the pod comes down, 3+ invuln almost across the board, the wolves gives the entire unit ablative wounds (not just the lord, since the lord is in a BG unit and therefore just counts as an "upgrade" like a vet sgt) and on a charge/countercharge would be coming at you with 6 PW attacks, 6 frostblade attacks, and 17 normal attacks. The GH would provide a withering hail of backup fire between the 2 plasma pistols and meltagun, and I have them assault oriented besides that to pile in if/as needed.

VenDread w/ Plasmacannon+Extra armor- 170pts.

6 Grey Hunters- Plasmapistol x2, Flamer- 128 pts.

Razorback w/ Lazcannon+Plasma guns- 75 pts.

6 Grey Hunters- Plasmapistol x2, Plasma rifle- 134 pts.

Razorback w/ Lazcannon+Plasma guns- 75 pts.

5 Long Fangs- 4w/ Hvy Bolters- 168 pts.

750 pts.

Not an I win list, but a shooty list for nid killing/orc killing/guard killing.... and Id love to see termies go up against it ala deathwing.

Alternatively:

VenDread w/ Plasmacannon+Extra armor- 170pts.

6 Grey Hunters- Plasmapistol x1, Plasma Rifle- 124 pts.

Razorback- 40 pts.

6 Grey Hunters- Plasmapistol x1, 4 Bolters, Plasma rifle- 128 pts.

Razorback- 40 pts.

5 Long Fangs- 4w/ Plasma Cannons/andor/Lascannons- 248 pts.
