OnlyInDeath
I'm giving this a bump, as I saw that there are lots of new wolves around the fang. Think I will also put a link to this in my sig. If you guys havent browsed over this, there are some very mean, and effective 750 pt modules, some self supporting (ie, IC plus everything else), others are just ideas for beefing up a current list. Give them a look see, add any you can think of! I still think we should get this cleaned up and stickied :P Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/148494-750-modular-wolf-lists/page/4/#findComment-1902703 Share on other sites
Haakon_Stormbrow
Man i love this thread, but what we need is the combat march and a nice firing line oh and lets not forget a mech: List 1 Ragnar Blackane 175 + 10GH with 2 power weapons 190 + WGPL with power weapon and bolt pistol and krak grenades 43 in A Land Raider Redeemer 240 and 6 GH running behind the tank 102 750 thats 20 pw attacks at ws 4 on the charge with 7 of them at S5 thats assuming those 2 flame templates and assault cannon didn't wipe out everything first. List 2 the fire platform WGBL cml, tda, fb, wc 128 + 5 long fangs 2ml, 2 lc 188 + razorback with TLLC 75 & 6 GH mg, pw 122 & 6 GH mg, pw 122 & predator destructor with heavy bolter sponsons 85 750 this list is mean, 3lc 4ml 1autoc 6hb 2mg shots per turnoh and the lf combo of 3 lc 4ml can target 3 different opponents, 4 if the WG leaves the squad, if they get close you have 2 pw and a fb to mop up what's left. List 3: Mech list V.dread ac, hf, ex.a 170 & 6 GH 5 bolters, pg, pw 129 + razorback with TLLC 75 & 6 GH 4 bolters, mg, pw 126 + razorback 40 & predator destructor with heavy bolter sponsons 85 & whirlwind 85 & attack bike 40 750 very mobile, can take on most armor, and will stand up to a lot of firepower, with troops being able to get to objectives fast. So any thoughts? or have i made a mistake if so please tell! *added points for you* Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/148494-750-modular-wolf-lists/page/4/#findComment-1929738 Share on other sites
LPetersson
So any thoughts? or have i made a mistake if so please tell! Not a mistake as such, but have a look at the format of the other lists. With them you can easily see points costs and the weapon load-outs... smurf-o-wolve
1. Post :D ***********HQ*********** Venerable Dreadnought AC Hvy. Flamer 165 Points ********Troops******** 10 Blood Claws 2 Power Fists 1 Flamer 170 Points ------------------------ 6 Grey Wolves 2 Power Weapons 2 Plasma Pistols 1 Melt Gun 3 Bolter 155 Points *********Heavy Support** Predator Destruktor 85 Points -------------------------- Predator Destruktor 85 Points ---------------------------- Predator Destruktor 85 Points ************************* 745 Points I think it's a fine list with a nice mix of firepower and hard to kill targets. It only lacks punch against tanks. Any comments? Haakon_Stormbrow
lacks punch against tanks??? you have 6 auto cannon shots at str7 2 plasma pistol shots str 7, 4 rending assault cannon...can be str 12+d3 armor pen and a melta gun str 8 so you have 5 anti land raider shots, and 8 anti armor 13 and below so i think its fine for 750 points, i do feel the grey hunter squad would be better with an extra member or 2 with less special weapons so if you loose the bc flamer and a fist and the 2 pp you can add 2 gh and 4bg and change the power weapon to a fist making your numbers better so that your scoring units last longer while the ennemy suffers the pain of 6 str7 shots and 18 str 5 shots a turn from the tank line. Grey Mage
Str 7 is good against light tanks... if its heavier than a dread you just cant cut it. His real antitank is a meltagun and an assault cannon... nothing else can take on AV 13 at all. Since rending is a 1 in 6 chance its more like he has about 2 shots, one at 24 and one at 12. It is light on antitank, but the only I can think to do for it would be cut a predator, upgrade one if not both to annhilators- sponson only. Of course against orks this setups wonderful. Welcome to the fang, have an ale! Have a howl! Foods inside. Wolf Guard Nostromo
How about this: WGBL - MCW, FB, FG 6 GH - 3 x B/CS, 2PP, 1PG in DP 6 GH - 5 x B/CS, MG in DP WGPL - MCW WGPL - PCW Vindicator with Siege Shield Vindicator with Siege Shield 750 points dead I think (Im at work :cuss ) A major advantage is the choice of what to crush in turn 1 i.e. plasma death or melta death. Followed by vindicator mop-up squadron... Thoughts? OnlyInDeath
Personally, not a huge fan of the vindi/drop pod mix. You tend to drop down within 12" of an enemy to give yourself the rapid fire option. Vindis can scatter up to 8" from the target, so you very well could be blasted by your own templates. If you want to use fire support for your pods in tank form, I would suggest direct fire options over scattering templates. Grey Mage
Whirlwinds are pretty good though, they dont do as much damage against marines, and if your opponent only has a 5+ or 6+ you can use the S 4 option for the times when your nervous. Bjorn the Fell-Handed
OK, Ill try to make cheese :D VD- Multimelta, storm Bolter, EA *6 GH- Bolters/CCW's *8 BC's- Power weapon/Fist *5 Wolf Scouts- 4 shotguns, 1 BP/CCW, *5 Meltabombs 1 Vindicator Assault Tank (Heavy Support) @ 125 Pts Storm Bolter; Demolisher Cannon; siege shield 1 Vindicator Assault Tank (Heavy Support) @ 125 Pts Storm Bolter; Demolisher Cannon; siege shield Not as broken as the threee Vindicator list, but still potent (probably :P) Has got less armour than some lists, but is competative, but your oppoent wouldn't quite start tearing their own (and your) hair out. This is my 500 point list with 2 vindicators added on for good measure :P Scouts are used to killing 2-300 points of vindicator in most games though :P Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/148494-750-modular-wolf-lists/page/4/#findComment-1999701 Share on other sites
