Hello, as some people would see from my last couple of posts, I been hestitant on what I want as there are so many things I want to do.

As I already started to think seriously about my own chapter of normal Marines, but after looking at the codex for the Space Wolves. I like to do an basic low point army list.

I was also thinking of a Wolf Battle Leader as a HQ Choice with Bodyguard.

Well, if you are wanting to start out with a small force, grey hunters are the best starting block that you can take. They are a bit expensive the more you deck them out with gear, but they are your bread and butter. Blood claws are also another great basic troops choice as they are excellent at close combat.

For your HQ's just keep in mind that you need one hq for EVERY 750 pts in your army. A lot of people suggest, myself one of them, that getting a WGBL and a vendread is a good way to take care of the HQ requirement while keeping your units varied.

As you didnt state exactly how much you are looking to collect, I suggest looking around the forums at the various lists that have been drawn up. The Army List link at the top of the page has a wealth of lists for both casual games and tournaments, and even on the SW forums themselves you will find various lists and battle reports. There's even a 750 pt list thread up right now, but be warned that that specific thread is actually encouraged to be cheesy so the lists are a little...powergamer-y.

Welcome to the fang brother Seth, as Bran explained there are many topics you can choose to review that might help in making decisions for a new Space Wolf player. ;)

I absolutely love the WGBL with WGBG retinue. These are more commonly played in 1500 point lists, but if you check out the "750 point I win..." you'll see some great ideas in there to get you started as well.

Ah yes, forgot to mention the modular thread! Thanks for bringing that up OID, that will give you a idea of some basic army lists you can expand up as you see fit. Make sure to check out my list, it's the Fire Base one, probably most versatile and least likely to be considered cheesy /end shameless self advertisement ;)

Yeah, combining yours with Vash's BC tide would actually make for a non cheesy, very very scary list. Would be a nice step by step way to collect your wolves too.

Come to think of it, my Wolves need reworking, I may just do that! Thanks for the idea OID! *passes ale to OID*

Yeah vash, as I said earlier, your 750 is a scary effective start to an army and I wish I would have thought of it for one of my 750 pt combat patrols. I would have torn apart anything in my way. Combine that with any of the above shooty combinations, and you have yourself one very effective force. I would either say Bran's fire support base, or any of the DP based list, as the enemy would have to choose between the enemies in the ranks, or the tide of BC's quickly decending to smash them to pieces.
