+Rune Priest Delp+
Recently i received The Assault on Black Reach box set i have gone about putting the models together and playing a few games. How ever i am fairly sure GH squads cannot have Missile Launchers. This is where i get stuck, should i set the Missile Launcher troop aside and wait until i decide to add him to a squad of long fangs or just shelf him. Another thing that i would like to know for future reference is the weapons a GH squad can have. Thanx, +Rune Priest Delp+ Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/148587-converting/ Share on other sites
+Rune Priest Delp+
Oh another thing, i am well aware that the Assault On Black Reach troops are of the Ultramarines Chapter and that they are also a tactical squad. RADU LYKAN
do you have a copy of the space wolf codex? grey hunters can have quite a few differnt weapon load outs, with up to 2 special close combat weapons(either power weapons or fists) a single special weapon(flamer/plasma gun/melta gun) and up to 2 additional plasma pistols. with regards to the AOBR marines they are pretty much good to go, just shave off the tactical markings. if you have any close combat weapons such as chainswords or even warhammer fantasy weapons like axes etc they can be added as well. King Tiger
Oh another thing, i am well aware that the Assault On Black Reach troops are of the Ultramarines Chapter and that they are also a tactical squad. actually they belong to no chapter, there just generic everyday marines to fit every generic everyday chapter Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/148587-converting/#findComment-1724976 Share on other sites
muzzyman1981
I mainly bought AoBR for the Dreadnought, Captain, and TDAs....also I am going to paint up the Orks one of these days. The Tac Squad can be converted I just don't have the skills or time to do so. All they need is the shoulder marking filed off...a few wolfie things and whatnot and there you go. Perfect for an emergency GH pack. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/148587-converting/#findComment-1724986 Share on other sites

Perfect for an emergency GH pack. I sold my orks, made a profit. :) (do the same and get more pods! ;) ) As others have said, first get the space wolves codex, it's the only way to know for sure if you're doing things right. The best combinations I've used (in a 10-man GH squad) are 7 bolters/5ccw/1pf/1pw, 2 pp/2ccw, and a melta, plasma or flamer. This is a pretty standard shoot em up and get charged squad, best used in a rhino or a pod. Long Fang
If you don't have a codex yet your may well have issues getting hold of one these days. However if you send an E-mail to GW Canada i believe there still E-mailing out the Wolfy codex Fang Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/148587-converting/#findComment-1725121 Share on other sites
WolfLordLars
The Tac Squad have those 'arrows' on their shoulders, which will need to be removed. Thats probably why I have not bothered with them. Just not worth the effort. Though, I could use a second dread on top of the one I already got from a box set. WolfLordLars
Only about 20 topics on the new SW codex. The current opinion is that we have been forgotten by GW, but is ok, because our codex still rocks. Otherwise, it should be out in late 2009/early 2010 Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/148587-converting/#findComment-1725515 Share on other sites
