Some of my chapter's heroes

Recommended Posts

So, fist of all, my chapter is called the Knights Seraphim jsut to give me an excuse to use all the Dark Angels and Empire/Bretonnian Knights bitz I want to bling them out. I don't actually play the game, in fact I just read a lot of the BL novels, so I wanted to make my Space Marine army into a chapter of heroes, with as much bling as you would expect.

The fluff from my chapter is that they are an Ultramarines successor chapter who rule/protect a narrow stretch of space above the border between Segmentum Solar and Segmentum Ultima where nothing really exciting ever happens. Becuase the area is so (relatively) peaceful, the chapter's gear is mostly intact and the marines have plenty of time to add gear to their armor to make up for the glory they are not winning in battle.

The names and some of the character ideas come from a friend of mine who suggested the chapter name "The Angry, Angry Space Hebrews", even if I didn't stick with that moniker.

Anyway,

Samson

Note the jawbones of a grox. On Phillistia Terminus, Samson used those two jawbones to slay 10,000 orks.

Chaplain Rashi. He's my first attempt at a plastic chaplain, so I'm still working some kinks out of the design. I guess you'd say he's rather basic. Expect more from chaplain Maimonides.

This is my veteran sergeant with heavy bolter. He's a Zealot, but I forgot what specific name I was going to go with for him. Note the holy icon on his backpack.

And the last one, just for kicks, may not be a power armored model, but he is heavily modified. (I suggest that he counts as an Eversor assassin, I guess. With +1 attack against enemies with taste.)

My response to the question "What would happen if Rob Liefeld designed models for Warhammer 40,000?"

Sergeant Liefeld

Haha, love the little guy on his backpack, two questions though, one, how does the last guy lift his gun? and two, what does the "flame pistol" on your chappy count as? BTW, your plastic chappy is better than the one I did, although mine doesn't have a helmet...

must say i love the flame pistol, i'me sure they used to be a legal piece of wargear. And how does the last chap lift a heavy bolter with underslung mortar? The answer would be (as you can see in the picture) with his right arm of course! :P

Are the chainsword teeth on the zealous HB marine all cut and stuck individually or did you cut them off with a slither of plastic between them?

I tried to keep them all together on a strip of plastic but they separated before I could glue them on, so I ended up using teeny, tiny little tweezers to attach them to his head individually. My chaplain is about 80% Berserker, so I ended up slicing up a chainaxe to get those teeth, but they might have been easier to cut off of a chainsword now that I think about it.

Oh, and I still plan to add more pouches to Sergeant Liefeld. And the I'll greenstuff a bulging package.

As for the tiny holy icon, I bought an epic SM sprue to decorate my Battlefleet Gothic ships with statues of heroes, but now I have too many tiny marines. Expect a lot more fanatics to carry holy icons into battle in my chapter.

Also, I would probably just count the flame pistol as a close combat weapon, but go ahead and treat it as a flamer if you are so inclined. I really don't play the game so I have no idea what is legal and what isn't for wargear.
