Grey Mage
150 Pts+ Models. 0-1 Wolf Lord in Drop Pod. 0-2 WGBL in Drop Pods. 2-6 Grey Hunter Squads in Drop Pods. 0-1 Venerable Dreadnaught in Drop Pods. 0-2 Dreadnaughts. 0-4 Landspeeder Squadrons. 0-1 Space wolf Scout Pack. 0-2 Blood Claw Jump Packers. 0-1 WGBG with mark of the wulfen, in Drop Pod. The entire force deploys on a single roll. They may not enter play first turn, and all drop pods must enter play within 6"s of another drop pod *before scatter*. You must include on Grey Hunter pack per Dreadnaught or Venerable dreadnaught taken. A WGBL or Wolf Lord Must also be taken. The Scout pack must take a landspeeder storm as a transport in order to deploy as part of this formation. Any model or pack who would normally be able to take a wolf gaurd or wolf gaurd bodygaurds may do so. The player gains the orbital strike and careful planning assets. What do you think? Im considering taking out the dreadnaughts and making the WGBL be 0-1... but Im not sure. Any thoughts? the jeske
you do know that by fluff the number of BC is far greater then 2 units and those units wouldnt be jump pack ones . Grey Mage
This isnt for a great company, nor is it to cater to waves of bloodclaws... its for a drop pod spearhead, as launched from a strike cruiser of battlebarge. Jump pack BC's from thunderhawks seemed more in line with the idea. Dark Bjoern
Your Search-Fu is weak. SW Great Company discussion. We had talked about it with no conclusion cause every one has an other conception how a GC should look like. Grey Mage
Actually it was that post, and a couple of related ones that led me to make this datasheet DB. It isnt to represent a Great Company.... its to represent a planetary drop pod assault by an incoming space wolves force, using the old SW drop pod rules as a basis. Dark Bjoern
Have you seen the DP force and the Terminator force in Apocalypse Reloaded? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/149036-space-wolves-in-apocalypse/#findComment-1731281 Share on other sites
Vassakov
Ok, fine how about this: SW Great Company - 200pts + models Gives the same strategic Assets as a SM Battle Company. Noone knows how big an actual Great Company is, therefore it simply needs to be Big. And Great. And Company-ish. Dark Bjoern
As an Apocalypse veteran i can say yes there´re some nice formations in it. I think about a SW variant of the Terminator force. It would work like that: First a cyclon torpedo with a teleport beacon will arrive like a DP (scatter....) then an orbital bombartment will be fired on the position of the teleport beacon and finally the DP gets down without scatter within 12" around the teleport beacon 5+ DP with WG Terminators 1+ DP with dread / ven dread and all this in the same turn. The original force work similar like this but the terminators deep strike. Grey Mage
That is simply huge concentration of WG terminators.... and with each one needing a WGBL or WL with them... thats an army in and of itself. Not that that is unheard of in apocalypse... but dang.
