Guest WG Vrox
Stores: In trying to get a feel for army lists and the difference between game clubs and stores in my area, I found I prefer bringing a pre made list for all point classes played 750 mostly for 4player games, 1500, 1750, 2k. When I show I like to find someone that has a pre-made list as well. the pre-made games seems to end up being a much better game, than playing with someone that wants to create a list on the spot. Game clubs: Bit different usually they gamers are experienced and better commanders. You know your opponent and they know you, so when a game is preplanned, I notice a few bring lists designed to beat mine. I try to stick to my same pre-made list I usually play and will make very few changes if any, when I know what army I will be up against. I don't mind playing these heretics; their defeat is that much sweeter. Home: Friendlier and funnier, but mostly same as the clubs. What do you find yourself playing and where? Grey Mage
Store/Club: Alot of the more experianced Players wont play much these days... they talk alot, about 40k, politics, et all...but very few of them will play a 1 on 1 game anymore. Theyre too caught up with their scoresheets I think. *shrugs*. So usually I take a balanced list against newbies, with a couple of tricks but mostly straitforward... I want them to figure stuff out, but I also need to be able to fight my fight too. Friends: How many points did you bring over? Dont tell me the army... ok. Ill have a 1500 list in about 15 minutes ok? Cool. We play good balanced games for the most part... sometimes we do a everyone declares no hold barred cheese it list... but thats rare, and kind of fun for a change of pace. Wolf89
I play at work. ;) Usually I bring 3-4 different armies with me (or whatever is already there) and use a similar list each time no matter who I face. I find players regularly come up to play against my lists and it really helps business because they frequently change their lists and buy new things just to beat me. I have yet to loose against said players, and in tournaments I haven't lost a game yet in 5th ed. The only time I change my lists are about a week before a tournament where I keep second guessing myself (I do the same thing on tests and quizzes in school) and usually end up using the same list a week earlier, or something very similar. Ullr Direfang
i usually only play at stores. when i play i like to bring a pre-made list. i feel it allows me to think ahead a little. most people there do the same. i find that many people don't change their list to much just like me though. every now and then some people make a change, some times small, some time they change nearly their whole army. saying that i don't change my list much, i guess wouldn't really hold true.... i have a base list, yes. but i tend to add different units depending on what/who i am playing, adding more LC or plasma to the list. for tounies i tend to try and make the most well round list i can. good anti-tank, with good anti-infantry/heavy infantry. these would be where my list probably changes the most. saphius
For me it's always balanced, always fast. Home or tourney, though one consistency I seem to have in all my lists is troop light. Haven't run more then three since fifth started. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/149098-balanced-army-lists/#findComment-1733621 Share on other sites
