Thanks a lot guys, cheers for the kind words

I have added a few more highlights to the gold and it is a great improvment already, should have some update soon

As for the tutorial i do believe that Lunchbox is planning one in the not too distant future, so keep your eyes peeled for that

also check this link out, i found this very useful http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/index.p...howtopic=105449

Small update on my loyalist 'Castle's' here,

The only thing that is near finished on these guys is the white, the rest should be done in the next couple of days so i thought i would show you a WIP now

I am really struggling to take good pictures of the White armor but you can see where i am going with them kinda, the first guy will have golden knuckles on that power fist hence why i have left them

great work on this!

I once tried turning a Harry Potter chess set in2 something better...didn't have the patience, so good sir, I applaud you

and a suggestion for the board...to make it a little more futuristic, why not have circles instead of squares on the actual board? start off with the squares separated, then shave the corners to make them circular, and maybe have lava flow in between? or maybe even uneven spaces, as if the grounds tearing apart (maybe just on the chaos side)

Finished the gold, face and purity seals on this guy now, very happy with it so far. The wax does look a little pink but not irl

Dude wow!

What a fantastic idea, that's really top notch, kudos to you.

The purple and gold is immense really matches each other superbly well, In particular i must say the Terminators on both sides look stunning, really really well done sir!

How much have you still got to do?

Some progress here, after some thought i decided to use Librarian models for the bishops instead of chaplains.

Apart from the skull helmets there wasn't much to distinguish them from the rest of the loyalists unless i painted them black (which would be daft for this chess project) so i have opted for the robed librarian fellas instead.

Here is the first on its way. White, NMM gold and most of the face are completed

Any input of what colour robe would compliment these guys would be appreciated as well as any other criticisms you want to throw my way!

its good see this is still going ahead, im very impressed with the nmm you are doing could you possible tell us the recipe.

on the robe colour i would use the same blue that you used on the terminator hammer power cables, that way it will all tie in with the other models without a random colour thrown in :o
