On thing i'd like to propose: make the power fist a bit larger. Just from looking i can see it was a lot of work to make thi one but it does seem a tad too small for this model. Forgeman Posted October 18, 2008 Author Share Posted October 18, 2008 Initially the fist was bigger but I wasn't happy with it and it is now a perfet scaled up version of a 28mil terminator power fist; as you say it doesn't look massive compared to the rest. I have a lot of photos in my thread on the Conclave linked to in the opening post but none in comparison to a 28mil space marine. A long over-due update; slow and steady wins the race, just not very fast ^_^ http://i62.photobucket.com/albums/h81/Sonnilion/DSCF1212.jpg I don't think I will ever make another 54mm Crux but when I make one at 28mil I'll be making it slightly different; more in-keeping with the design from Codex: Ultramarines that Forge World have used. Front two teeth I liked but the others not so much, I'l have to build a solid base to sculpt onto next time so they can all look half decent. The nose needs improvement, too bat-like as it is and the cracks on the forehead are scored too deep. Still everything is a learning curve I suppose. I think a lick of paint will serve to smarten up the Crux immeasurably - it doesn't have to look 100% human, it's supposed to inspire fear and awe in petty mortals. There'be plenty of battle damage on him once he's painted, not too sure what colour the Crux will be, not too keen one bone so maybe a stone or metal, hmm, long way off that though. Classic fluff had the Crux being made out of stone, with honoured veterans being given the Crux Argentum, which was made of silver and inlaid with jewels. The Codex states that the Crux Terminatus is made from stone, and that in each one is a tiny piece of the Terminator armor the Emperor wore in his fight with Horus. So, a shade of gray, possibly Codex Gray with some Fortress Gray highlighting, depending on whether or not you want his Crux made from silver instead of stone... The skull is certainly based on the old skull images and I deffinitely think stone, possibly with the skull metallic would be the way to go; it'd fit in with the rest of the colour scheme which has bare-metal shoulder-pads.
