Iron Man: Challenge 2

A Nice easy one this time.

Challenge 2: I’m Famous

Creating a character

Why? Many chapters include super-duper characters which end up overshadowing the chapter which the IA is meant to be about. This challenges may seem backwards for creating a good chapter, but Liber isn’t about saying No, it is about saying if you are going to do something wrong, do it right. This is a challenge in restraint, control and dedication (well, not dedication)

Tip. Be sure to make a balanced character, one which is believable in the 40k universe and isn’t a primarch-esque super-hero.

Specific Rules:

This challenge is to create a biography of the character, not a story nor a rule set.

The character does not need to be from a DIY chapter.

For length, similar to that of those in the nex codex.

Good Luck!

ok quick question on this

so we have to create the fluff for the charcter not the rules?

also can it be say (not that i would do him) the captain of the 4th Ultramarines company Ageeman or something???

ok those are my only questions

Athiair

ps. thanks

Oh man this is a blatant opening. Cue Letalis <_< Beware Octy, for he returns... :) Just need to find the time and mind-capacity to snag all me notes and create something worthy to read...

EDIT:

so we have to create the fluff for the charcter not the rules?

Fluff. No rule-set. It says so at the top ;)

One last question, Do we post the entry in this topic? or create a new one in Liber Astartes or Homegrown Rules?

I'd assume we'd PM the submissions to Ferrata just as in the first Challenge.

So can this be a character from a chaos legion/renegade force/warband?

From the Rules post:

"Each Article has no Word Limit although we will suggest a count you should be aiming for, a mix between enough to allow freedom but not too much to burn the eyes of our voters.

Only one (1) entry per registered user

You must be a registered member of the Bolter and Chainsword to enter the contest and to be eligible for prizes.

All work must be done by the person entering the article. No team entries.

Do not post or discuss your entries either on the B&C or other forums until after the contest is over.

Unless stated otherwise, each challenge only allows entries on the following armies; Space Marines, Chaos Space Marines, Sisters of Battle, Grey Knights, Forces of the Inquisition, Adeptus Mechanicus."

Since I can see no 'otherwise stated' rules for the entries I'd assume everything from the list I quoted to be fair game. I reserve my answer for correction by Ferrata though.

TDA

yeh but do we have to create stats for this character

and rules etc.

or do we just create the fluff

also can we do a charcter all ready mentioned in GW fluff

eg. the Ultramarines 3rd Captain

or do we have to make a new charcter all together?

ok thanks

Athiair :D

Hey, I don't sit on my computer 24/7 waiting to answer questions.

so we have to create the fluff for the charcter not the rules?

No rules, no justification for any weaponry etc

also can it be say (not that i would do him) the captain of the 4th Ultramarines company Ageeman or something???

Yup, but this is meant to be a biography of sorts so most GW characters will already have one.

Do we need to include pictures if we make/finish a model or draw one?

Nope, just fluff.

Do we post the entry in this topic? or create a new one in Liber Astartes or Homegrown Rules?

PM me (and I won't let my inbox get full)

So can this be a character from a chaos legion/renegade force/warband?

Space Marine, Chaos Space Marine, Inquisitor, Sister of Battle, Grey Knight or Ad. Mech Character.

Do we have to make a character completely from scratch? I.E., if there's a canonical character or a DIY fella I've been wanting to work on, can I use him?

You can use an old character as long as the piece of work you submit is entirely new.

Can we enter this even if we missed out on the 1st part (and have i missed out on the 1st part btw!)

Yup, you don't have to go full Iron Man so you could enter only one of the five challenges if you wish. The 1st Challenge was meant to close last night but thanks to me (and a mistake by me) it is open until this evening.

Hey, I don't sit on my computer 24/7 waiting to answer questions.

But I sit here pretty much 24/7 asking them. :) ansr qs plox kthxbai!

(Totally facetious, don't mind me, trying to distract myself from paper that needs to be written)
