Bloodthirster conversion

Well it's not so much a conversion, it's the bloodthirster model alright, but his pelt and buckle is GS'd, his hair is GS'd and he has a jugger head.

He'll be used as my bloodthirster with unholy might for sure, and possibly (over time) earn himself a name and possibly uber rules to go along with it.

So far his wings are painted (but not pinned and attached yet), his axe is halfway, and his whip is just based so far, but I thought I'd post to you guys what you thought about my pelt conversion I did today. It's simply giving the effect of a howling deamon being manifested outside the warp in the bloodthirster's pelt (just a bloodletter head with the horns chopped off and some GS added to make it look like it's manifesting. So let me know what you think.

long, hippy-like hair... takes after his creator :)

So let me know what you guys think, does it look good? should I scrap the idea of it? (I'm talking about the pelt here, the head swap I quite enjoy and it helps distinct him from the dog head, and I refuse to use that other human-like head that's hideous).

I was also thinking about adding horns to the jugger head, but I feel it might get too cluttered... ideas?

Well since no one's commented on the pelt and such I left it alone and primed the beast... now I'm debating how to paint him... The other thirster he'll be fielded with in my zilla list will have red~ish skin tones with blue~ish hued wings... so I was thinking about making this thirster stand out differently from my other by making him more "mech-y", such as painting him more of a black colored skin and having the wings be grey~ish tones... thoughts? Ideas?

On a side note, I'm not sure what colors to paint the pelt... I want to get as close to "warp" as possible... maybe some purplish swirls? or what?... ideas here as well please.

Hey He's looking good, his pelt looks fine and his hippy hair is good!

I found those legs in my bitz box too!... and a Minatour head... and 2 minataur hands... one left and one right! so i'm on a mega Bloodthirster conversion aswell!

yours looks best

never seen a bloodthirster with a jugger head before and damn it works!!!

i'm not sold on the idea of the pelt myself (looks overly large) but the GS/letter head looks great, Sporran from hell!

Not sure if when you say "GS/letter head" you know that the letter head was from the boxed set... I'm not that good at GS :P

If you're saying it's good that you knew it was from the box then thank you, I wanted something different with this guy (still working on fluff) and I really like it. And yes, the head works a lot better than I expected as well.

Thanks for your inputs guys, I'm about to leave lab so I'll start painting asap and get some pics up soon... any word yet on how to do the skin if I go black colors then?... possibly purplish highlights?

Well I got some painting done yesterday, (no thanks to my running out of black paint... I mean who runs out of black -_- ).

I decided to "borrow" the color scheme of Daniel's 2nd paint scheme of the bloodthirster on the forgeworld site... white~ish skin tones with blues in the recesses, armor more silver than brass, and dark red covering most of the areas... and I like how it's coming along, just need to refine the blues in the skin to more blended and more white highlights on the raised areas and veins and I think he'll be ready for some hair color and working on more details. Let me know what you guys think.

"I eatz U nowz..." ;)

Overall I'm really pleased with the way the red turned out... I used terracotta washes with red gore washes and then an ink wash and I like the outcome, best part was it took little to no time to paint...

Questions? Comments? Ideas? all welcome, but at this stage of making him, I really could use ideas and advice. :P
