Black Templar Champion

Recommended Posts

I've started a BT marshal/champion out of boredom a while ago. So far all I have is the start of his custom greave and shield. I've thought long on how I want it posed, and I feel it suits the model well. I like to think the pose is the detail that makes or breaks a model. I have images, and the links below are for the fullsized unedited photo.

Watch where you step. The blog will claim any models who accidentally tread on it.

The shield was the most time consuming so far. It's a Warriors of Chaos shield with the 8-pointed star filed off. I don't know why I put so much effort into preserving a chain, but I hope it pays off in the end.

C&C is welcome.

Looks pretty good, I really like the custom grieve idea, I never thought of it (even after playing DOW) =-D awesome. But you are going to do two right?

And for that shield, you might want to find someone that has some glue called "styrene glue" it melts plastic, and it re-hardens. So you get some shavings, put it on your shield, and paint that glue on, and it'll make it smooth, so there aren't any sanding lines.

Great work so far, Can't wait for progress (and I'm stealing your grieves idea)

I'm also loving the idea of the greave, but to me it looks like his legs are a little too far apart as if he has overstretched himself. Maybe if you put his left leg on something higher (say the typical heroic big rock :) )

Just a personal preference.

You don't even need the shavings. Liquid plastic cement will melt the surface and eliminate the lines. I do it all the time on my marines.
