Corrupted
So I had to play Necrons today for a local league game. During one point in the game my opponent transported five destroyers through the monolith, moved them 12" and unloaded on my daemon prince. I questioned the move, but he assured me he could do it, and there was no codex handy. Is that really allowed? Brother Nihm
He may pull them back through the Monolith and have them enter play as if they were disembarking from a stationary vehicle regardless of whether the Monolith moved or not. So yes, that's legal. :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/150081-need-some-info-about-necrons/#findComment-1743767 Share on other sites
Mal
also remember the destroyers count as jetbikes and gain the relentless rule meaning they can move 12" and shoot, then assult. (even with rapid fire/heavy weapons) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/150081-need-some-info-about-necrons/#findComment-1743774 Share on other sites
chillin
The guy should have had his dex with him though. If I question something some guy does at a tourny, I don't want his assurences, I want to see it in the codex. As always I would be happy to provide mine should the situtation be reversed. btw to the OP, don't worry about little necron tricks with the monolith or necron lord, just phase them out. Schultzhoffen
I thought that he can only transport Warriors through the 'Liths. Need to check up on that. Monoliths are the toughest vehicle in the game. Welcome to your worst nightmare is he has 2 or 3 of them. Try to kill all his warriors and phase them out but clever Necron Warriors will crush you with everything else and then portal the warriors to claim objectives in turn 5. Be careful of scarab swarms (terrible, terrible, terrible...) and Immortals. If you can get him in CC he is gone but you have to shoot his Warriors so that he doesn't use his 'lith's Ordinance Weapon (St10 AP3?). If he takes 3 'Liths you are in for a world of pain as he'll slowly rumble them up (or Deepstrike) and Ordinance you to death or move warriors all over the place (even out of combat). Good luck trying to kill them with anything other than Str10 or a pair of Daemon Prices in CC. You need Obliterators. Lots of them. Plasma Cannon the snot out of his Troops (no "We'll be back" nonsense, then). If you can Infiltrate a Chosen Squad with melta guns (and a Greater Daemon waiting) you could cause him untold grief. Terminators are good, too, as they are pretty immune to his Ordinance and Power Weapons also negate WBB. Try to ignore the 'Liths (easier said than done, I know!). I learned a bitter lesson once. Over 5 game turns of shooting 2 twin-linked lascannons at just one I only managed to immobilise the damn thing in Turn 5 (should have shot at his Destroyers!). Mal
Actually I believe the resurection orb allows the FNP (we'll be back) rule to work even when it normally would not.... combine that with the monolith re-roll... and you have IMHO the most durable army in the 40K universe Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/150081-need-some-info-about-necrons/#findComment-1745759 Share on other sites
Zealot Of Chaos
I thought that he can only transport Warriors through the 'Liths. Need to check up on that. the monolith can transport Warriors, Immortals, Flayed Ones, Destroyers, Heavy Destroyers, Wraiths and if a Lord has joined a unit the lord as well but the WHOLE unit must be transported If you can get him in CC he is gone but you have to shoot his Warriors so that he doesn't use his 'lith's Ordinance Weapon (St10 AP3?).Gauss Flux Arc (12" Str 5 AP 4 Heavy D6) and Particle Whip (24" Str 9 AP 3 Ord.1/Blast) You need Obliterators. Lots of them. Plasma Cannon the snot out of his Troops (no "We'll be back" nonsense, then). Resurrection Orb does indeed allow we'll be back even if its not normally applicable (as long as they are within 6" of the lord) Try to ignore the 'Liths (easier said than done, I know!). I learned a bitter lesson once. Over 5 game turns of shooting 2 twin-linked lascannons at just one I only managed to immobilise the damn thing in Turn 5 (should have shot at his Destroyers!). thats unlucky, last time I played a cron player I unloaded 4 Oblit lascannons at his monolith (only thing I could see on turn one) and managed to make it kaboom in a big fireball (technically twice) (also taking 3 warriors within the blast), whilst I know I was very lucky to destroy his single monolith on turn one I am still well chuffed that the oblits killed the monolith and later in the game the nightbringer as well (mmm twin linked plasma guns) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/150081-need-some-info-about-necrons/#findComment-1745794 Share on other sites
