Brother Captain Vain
I was just curious that, out of all of the Space Marine Chapters, that the SW appereantly doesn't have any chapters formed from its gene seed. I know the Wolf Brothers was an ill fated chapter that was formed in the 2nd founding, but what about the rest of the millenia since then? Surely their must have been at least 1 chapter that shares it origins with the Sons of Russ? Dark Bjoern
Cause of the fact that our geneseed is unstable the High Lords don´t use our geneseed. But we have the Lost Companies. They´re our kind of successor chapters. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/150210-space-wolves-successor-chapters/#findComment-1745643 Share on other sites
The_Betrayed_Spacewolf
if any succesful wolf chapters existed beside the space wolves then the imperium would run out of ale and enemies to fight. Winterseven
Hello, First off as a 'New Pup' and SW player, just wanted to say 'Hi' and ales all round. Secondly isnt there a Red Wolves chapter created from the SW Geneseed or are they just regular SW's who like the colour red? There is a thread on here by Wendigo about Red Wolves: http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/index.php?showuser=3270 Admittedly i havent had a chance to read it fully, so i'm probably wrong! Grey Mage
Note he also uses them as chaos marines..... *spreads hands* You dont have to follow the GW canon fluff. You can make a successor chapter to the space wolves..... or heck, Ive seen a couple of "celtic" chapters that used our rules and were really, really cool. I like to have mine be the actual space wolves... maybe Im just lazy, or dumb, but I cant think of a better set of fluff for nordic spacemarine werewolves. Winterseven
Ah yeah your right he does use them as chaos too. I'm actually creating my own sucessor chapter - The Blood Wolves/Wolves of Asaheim, not sure which to go for just yet. The reason I chose SW's was becuase I wanted something unique and barbaric, but like Grey Mage says, you can create whatever you like it's your army!! Winterseven
Thanks King Tiger Never knew that - so they're not even proper space wolves!! Thats False Advertising :P Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/150210-space-wolves-successor-chapters/#findComment-1745785 Share on other sites
Brother Captain Vain
Never knew that - so they're not even proper space wolves!! Thats False Advertising neither are the Luna Wolves. I was wondering as i was looking ahead to the next army i will build (after my Exorcists) and i always had a small fondness Space Wolves, espically Logan Grimnar, who is a much more interesting character than Marneus Calgar or Grand Master Azeriel. I also have to give him credit for leading the Imperial forces of the 1st War for Armeggedon against numerous of Daemons and warriors of the Blood God, and led by Angron no less. Of course, like the 13th Company as well for their inter-dimensional escapades in the Eye of Terror, so yea there's alot i can do with this army. Well, i figure ill come to a decision once GW gets around to a new Space Wolf Codex. Thank you satisfying my curiousity.
