Iacton
This model had been sat on my painting box for about 6 months, 1/2 finished and looking a little forlorn. I lost interest due to several other projects being more inspiring and due to the fact that these old RT models are lovely in terms of posterity, but not great in terms of quality. It's not done to my usual level, but I did experiment with OSL for the head lamp. Anyway, I intend to revisit the old paint schemes from Rogue Trader, especially looking at the Badab War, and so once there are a couple more done, I'll collect them up . But for now, enjoy  http://i247.photobucket.com/albums/gg148/Iacton/Miscellaneous%20Marines/Rainbow4.jpg
KJB
I used to think those old models were tremendous back in the day... Liking the light effects by the way, good job

Terminatorinhell
i kind of like the pose but i don't really like how long the helmet seems to be  but i understand that its an old model.
Mr. Nipples
its amazing to see that GW is as big as it is now when they made sculpts like that. Love the paintjob.
Commander Skaav
A good paintjob there... What happened to the Chapter, they're not in the codex I've had, and I have to admit I've never actually heard of the Rainbow Warriors (never been brought up in any Space Marine related conversation I've ever had)
Mr. Nipples
I believe they are one of the "Lost Chapters"
Ompfris
I'm with everyone else - love the light effect! the shoulderpad shading is great.... untill you get to the purple which just dosen't seem to have blended aswel as the other paints. Nice marine but I think I will leave my old RT (with rocket launcher) in the unpainted box.
BrotherAtrox
If you look at the new map in the SM Codex the world "Prism" is listed with a icon next to it that looks exactly like the Rainbow Warriors logo. And it can't be the Death Strike homeworld because theirs is listed on the same page as Nihilas.
ImperialTemplari
I always thought the rainbow warriors were white with a rainbow stripe down the helmet.
Iacton
Thanks guys. The colour scheme is correct, at least to the old Rogue Trader book anyway - may have been ret-conned since, but the RT scheme is what I worked to :P Mr N, you are quite right when you say that it is a wonder <_< They do make for a bit of fun though. KJB
Since it's Rogue Trader era, are you going to paint one of the daft Space Marine slogans on him? "Be just and fear not" or even "Kill, Kill, Kill"? :)
nurglespuss
ahem :D That was 'Kil Kil Kil' space marines couldn't spell back then :>
Commander Skaav
ahem :P That was 'Kil Kil Kil' space marines couldn't spell back then :> Sounds more like a Beserker phrase to me :P B) <_< I can't imagine a Space Marine shouting that slogan out! Widowmaker
Nice job Iacton - always good to see those old models getting a new lick of paint. You've done this one proud. The colour scheme is correct, at least to the old Rogue Trader book anyway - may have been ret-conned since, but the RT scheme is what I worked to  The scheme ain't 100% right though - the original scheme was indeed blue, but you've taken a little artistic license with the rainbow shoulder pad Hope this doesn't cause probs.... You doing more of these guys? Cheers Widowmaker
Kapitan Montag
Inspirational paint work! I particularly like the rainbow shoulder pad. Even if its not quite like the original paint scheme, it looks very nice. I'm tempted to steal that idea for my Rainbow warriors. (maybe just the veterans though as I've already done the tacticals with blue shoulder pads)

You doing more of these guys? Cheers Widowmaker I don't plan to do any more Rainbows, and the idea of a rainbow pad has been itching at me for years! I have all of the old books, so my plan is to paint a few more of the slightly more interesting and characterful RT marines in the colour schemes in RT and the supplements. Kapitan Montag, please steal away. It would be really nice to see the idea carried on for lots of models

Momento Mori
Nice paint job there, Iacton! The OSL worked great too. The waves of nostalgia that these old RT mini's brings back *daydreams* :P
Solamus
its amazing to see that GW is as big as it is now when they made sculpts like that. Love the paintjob. It was sculpted more than 20 years ago, technology has progressed just a tad. ;)
