natsirtm
I have been itching to do up a Space Sharks army for a while now. I always envisioned them like WW flying aces - lots of kill markings, tooth designs on the sides of vehicles, etc. Cpt. Tiberius' IA is also pretty sweet, and who better to carry the deathwatch heavy bolter than a Space Shark? These guys won't get any paint until I am done painting my novamarines - however I wanted a very tight look to the models and began ordering bits when i saw them available eg. torsos are only the one's with tubing - SM or CSM, all with MK6 beakies, all with the older mk7 backpack, etc. And then while waiting for the hobby room in our condo to undercoat the novamarines I figured I might as well put these guys together. Pretty much all plastics so far. http://www.netxecute.com/b&c/SS%20-%20cmdr%20&%20cmd%20squad.jpg Cmdr http://www.netxecute.com/b&c/SS%20-%20cmdr%20-%20front.jpg http://www.netxecute.com/b&c/SS%20-%20cmdr%20-%20left.jpg http://www.netxecute.com/b&c/SS%20-%20cmdr%20-%20right.jpg Cmd Squad http://www.netxecute.com/b&c/SS%20-%20cmd%20squad%20champ%20-%20front.jpg http://www.netxecute.com/b&c/SS%20-%20cmd%20squad%20champ%20-%20left.jpg http://www.netxecute.com/b&c/SS%20-%20cmd%20squad%20champ%20-%20right.jpg * Champion still needs combat shield. http://www.netxecute.com/b&c/SS%20-%20cmd%20squad%20apothecary%20-%20front.jpg http://www.netxecute.com/b&c/SS%20-%20cmd%20squad%20standard%20-%20front.jpg http://www.netxecute.com/b&c/SS%20-%20cmd%20squad%20plasma%20vet%20-%20front.jpg http://www.netxecute.com/b&c/SS%20-%20cmd%20squad%20plasma%20auspex%20vet%20-%20front.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/150318-space-sharks-wip/ Share on other sites

InFlames
Welcome to team awesome! I'm assuming by your pics that your doing an all mk 6/beakie space shark army? It is defiantly is the coolest way to go. Get some of them painted, lets see how they turn out. Yup all beakies - want teeth painted along the sides. All the older backpacks cuz they look more aquatic. Torsos with tubing. I wanted to further unify the models, make it look as if they all have more standardized equipment. natsirtm
OK so first I'll apologize for no painted pics yet. Still painting my novamarines and since i'm planning to use a grey colour spray to get undercoat & base done at once, I figured the more mini's ready at that time the better. Now have the cmd squad and two tactical squads built. 2 guys in the 2nd tac squad need old RT001 beakie heads (one incoming) and I need one more scrolled/cmdr shoulder pad for the guy landing from jumping the fence in the second squad. Other than that I just need to fix the a RT001 beakie heads in the first tac squad and the cmd squad champion to add some neck. Few more bits/bobs for the tac squads (grenades, ammo & stuff) Everyone http://www.netxecute.com/b&c/SS%20-%20cmd%20&%202%20tacs.jpg Tac1 http://www.netxecute.com/b&c/SS%20-%20tac1.jpg http://www.netxecute.com/b&c/SS%20-%20tac1%20running%20combat%20squad.jpg http://www.netxecute.com/b&c/SS%20-%20tac1%20jumping%20over%20wall-front.jpg http://www.netxecute.com/b&c/SS%20-%20tac1%20jumping%20over%20wall-side.jpg http://www.netxecute.com/b&c/SS%20-%20tac1%20standing%20combat%20squad.jpg http://www.netxecute.com/b&c/SS%20-%20tac1%20deathwatch%20heavy%20bolter.jpg Tac2 http://www.netxecute.com/b&c/SS%20-%20tac2.jpg http://www.netxecute.com/b&c/SS%20-%20tac2%20running%20combat%20squad.jpg http://www.netxecute.com/b&c/SS%20-%20tac2%20standing%20combat%20squad.jpg C&C welcome Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/150318-space-sharks-wip/#findComment-1790817 Share on other sites
Commissar Molotov
Very, very nice. I love the old heavy bolter (I wish I had some of them myself). It's cool to see a Sharks army gaining pace. :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/150318-space-sharks-wip/#findComment-1790945 Share on other sites
natsirtm
I updated the pics in the old posts. Group shots are the same crappy old ones, but there are close ups of each combat squad and some of the cooler guys. natsirtm
With any luck in the New Year Ill be down to have a game or two against them. Probably not early in the new year - but definitely want a contigent done by march.. Got some vehicles to build too.. Wow talk about old skool, bustin out all the old shoulder mount weapons, very nice. Also diggin the beaky. Thanks - yea the GW deathwatch hb model uses the new one, but i think the older style looks more 'move & fire'. Then i decided the older style missile launcher looks more marine like. I will probably use an old school lascannon for a future tac squad. Brother Captain Andrecus
These are really interesting. I have a love/hate relationship with beaky helmets... But I think these guys look great, and I can't wait to see them painted! (The shark teeth on the sides of the beaks should be interesting...) natsirtm
Quick update, sorry for the lack thereof previously - I've taken to updating my blog instead of multiple forum posts. However I thought this was worthy of posting here, just as I was getting my rhino/razorback undercoated - along came a contest on BoLS to paint a rhino or razorback in the scheme of one of the Badab war chapters. Perfect timing! So the rhino is getting all the love before the actual tactical squad with the intention of trying to win a LR. natsirtm
Nice to see some Space Shark love! Good like with the BOLS contest. Thanks! (I'll assume you meant luck :P ) That razorback looks great!. What shade of gray did you use? I wanted a very real world martial colour. What I did was undercoat with Tamiya AS11 (Medium Sea Gray), they drybrushed with Tamiya Medium Grey (can't remember the #, can find out at home), then a very very very light drybrush with thinned down Boltgun Metal. It gives the colour a sheen without making it look too metallic.
