Space Sharks WIP

Due to the BoLS contest I ended up painting the razorback before the squad got finished. Has definitely inspired me to get working on the troops I had undercoated because fielding the razorback without any sharks on the table is bound to bring bad luck! To that end I put a bunch of time into the first tactical squad and command squad over the weekend.

I know as a more or less 'official' chapter the Space Sharks have a defined paint scheme... but I've always thought it'd be neat if they were painted up sort of like a Mako Shark.

Either way, nice work keeping the theme together with the beakies. I'm interested to see how the rest turn out.

I did vary from the official theme quite a bit, my gray is a different shade - I've also gone for a mottled look with different gray and light metal drybrushing.

I wanted to paint sharks teeth on each helmet, but it's looking too difficult. Currently considering using a part of the decals I printed to lay teeth down the side.

I'm not a fan of the red stripe down the middle - have been thinking of doing a stripe of darker gray - what do you think?

I'm not sure a darker grey would offer enough contrast to make it noticeable at a distance; which reall is the point of the marking, after all. Maybe white would work better?

Only reason I picked gray was to be 'shark'-ish. Don't think I'd go with white, I never meant it to be like a squad/trooper marking or anything, just part of their scheme.

hey just noticed you're in ON - are you around T.O.??

Northern Etobicoke for school, Ajax is where my permanent residence is, though. I don't spend much time at home during the school year (Basically just there for the summer, Christmas break and maybe one weekend throughout the semester. Too damned busy with school and work to go home any more than that).
