Wulfen's. What to do with them?

Hail Brothers,

I got down to a hobby store yesterday and there I found four boxes of Wulfen, as the Space Wolf player I am I couldn't resist them and just had to have them all. So now I am sitting on around 25 Wulfens and I am trying to figure out what to do with them. Should I let them up on Ebay or just keep them and use them in Apoc, since that's probably the only way I would ever be able to play with them. I could keep ten of them, and use if GW has the minis in the next codex and sell the other 15.

Could I get some advice from some fellow wolfs on what to do with them? For I am starting to wonder why I bought so many of them, when I see no direct need for them.

Best Regards

Menathorn

Not bad there Wolf Brother... really neat and always nice to see effort put into metal models. ^_^

As for Menathorn, I like the idea of using them for Apoc... or if your gaming group allows... you could always try them in normal 40k (I know in my one store's gaming group baneblades are quite common in normal games) if you have a hard time getting in apoc games...

Otherwise keep them for now, their price is bound to go up, metal will rise as we know it and if you really didn't want them, then sell them sometime next year, a few months before december where we'll know for sure if they are included in the upcoming SW codex...

The wolf inside me would keep them though and use them for sure.

@Wolf Brother Spyrle: Got to say, good work there Brother!

I would like to do something with my Wulfen, I know that they could fetch a good price on Ebay, but don't know if I would like to go through all those steps.

And for Apoc, well I don't get the chance of playing Apoc so often, but they could sure fill out a good part of the army.

Thanks for the positive feedback.

If I had as many as you do, I'd first have to decide if I thought that Wulfen would make it into the next SW Codex in '09 or '10.

-If I didn't, I'd make them "Count as" Blood Claws, and would convert them so I had enough Power Weapons, Power Fists and Special Weapons that were needed.

-If I did, I might either build a 13th Co list and see if my local group would let me use it or use them to fill in my Blood Claws but make very few conversions, hoping to see them show up as an elite in the new codex or waiting for my chance to use them in apocalypse when I found someone who wanted to play.

-Option 3 would be to set up 20 of them as your Wolf Guard and take as many in bodyguards and packleaders as possible.

I've seen them in ebay stores for over $60.00 but the latest auction I saw had them around $24.00 plus $6 shipping with little to no interest in them. The best way might be to offer them to the growling masses here. (within the forum rules of course)

Regardless they are great sculpts and fun to work with.

I read this post and had a moment of clarity whilst walking past a model rail place when visiting my girls folks. BOOM. I found 3 boxes of Wulfen...jackpot.

Not sure if 15 is a useful number but I'm pretty pleased. What are the chances of seeing them in the new codex?

I say save them in the box. I dont care for the models for regular SW, but if your not going to use them in Apoc, hold on to them. Price can only go up (or stay the same if they re-release them).

If you do decide to sell, I am looking for some, but not for E-bay prices. I can wait (or convert) before I pay $40+ a box.

My $.02

$40...Err that's £20'ish...Ahh. Maybe the old lady in the model rail shop was smarter than I gave her credit for. I paid £18 a box, how much are they supposed to be?

hello

originally when you could still get them they were £18, but since they are metal, their price would have gone up recently so £20 sounds about right and you should be even happier now as you even got a discount on them lol.

@menathorn

the models are great IMO and since they will be getting rarer untill they rerelease or something it might be good to keep them cause when you want wulfen and you will ;) they will be hard to get and expensive.
