Still need to finish a couple of things on Vulkan and a few details on the dread.

More to come!

Nice, it looks like you've got your paint to a good consistency and are confident in laying down colours. If I were to make a suggestion, it would be to build up the lava streams on the base to a bright yellow, at the moment they look a bit like blood.

Also don't be afraid to take your time building up layers of colour on power blades, a subtler transition between the purple and red on Vulkan's blade would look fantastic. People are going to point out the obviousness of the storm bolter's barrel being undrilled though. My suggestion (and what I do myself most of the time :X) is that just dot the barrels with a bit of black to give the impression, that goes a long way ;)

Good, neat painting! But as the previous poster mentioned, more layers will help. Don't be afraid to put on layers that are so thin/slight that you think they won't make a difference; believe me, they will. And for special units such as dreads and especially Vulkan, you'll want to. Biggest issue is the blade and shaft of his weapon; the contrast there isn't good, especially if you're trying to convey a power weapon.

Also, you could paint/highlight the detail on Vulkan's chest more.

That's supposed to be a model of Vulkan He'stan, the new Salamanders character, not the primarch. But otherwise, yeah he doesn't look quite special enough. He isn't exactly heavily converted which means he needed a hell of a paint job to stand out as a special character.

i myself aint a big fan on the model as a whole

but the converting is quite nice

but the main thing that sticks for me is that the highlighting on He'Stan

is way to thick

it's great on the dread but on He'stan it looks to change the colour completly

but otherwise great work

espiccaly on the dread

Athiair :)
