odinswolf
Ok here's my vehicles, painted to look like a long range patrol after a few minor actions
Thraximus
Holy crap awesome! How did you do the lenses? I love them!
Zeller
I love the looks of IF. However, I'd suggest drilling the HB barrels on the predator and LR as well as possibly shading the lights or somthing to give the actual light lens a sense of containment. What I mean is right now the lense blue simply goes straight to the hull yellow without any kind of shade barrier.
Scar Weaver
I think those look great!
odinswolf
yup, i will be drilling the barrels (the razorback has them already done) I could also do a dark blue edge to the lights to help separate them ( maybe even on the light to give them depth) the green lenses are simple- goblin green then an L shape of scorpion green in the bottom left corner followed by dark angels green in the top right.. add a dot of white when dry :)
Shortsonfire79
These are freaking Awesome! I love tanks, and many tanks at once is perfect! They're well done, though, if they were on the move more, I'd like to think that there'd be more dirt and dust. Overall, these things are a nice 8 of 10 ( my ratings)
Dorns Padawan
That is some awesome artillery you got there and the paint job is superb! Dorn himself would be most proud of these! How did you paint them? Brush or spray?
Vodunius
I must concur with the brethren, the lenses are awesome, though in fact my eyes first went to the excellent chipped paint. although the extensiveness of the chipped paint kinda makes the complete lack of any dirt on the vehicles look rather.. odd. MithrilForge
great stuff! but "yes", i concur with others...chipped and ragged looking but no dust and dirt makes for :P if you weather them they will look perfect,as to the head lamp lenses - just a wash around the rim with badab black or watered chaos black(blacklining) will do the trick of seperation. cheers Mithril
mega_marines
So, I'm quite curious to how you did the yellow, it's quite nice. Mind sharing the recipe with us?
docbp87
Extremely jealous. Thinking very seriously of doing an Imperial Fists army next. Would really love to know the secret to your yellow.
AlexCrute
*is so jealous he can't speak without spitting* How long did it take you to whip up this lot? They look great. It's such a good thing to see this much yellow all together. *ptooey*
odinswolf
ok :pinch: photos do make the tanks look brighter than they are, they do look more grubby in real life( pics done in bright sunlight which probably bleached the shots out a bit), I may add a bit more weathering and touch up the headlights when I drill the barrels out. the yellow was an experiment using Lamentors yellow tutorial to see how vehicles would look. you can have a look in the wip section ( search for Imperial fists- a sprayers guide..) basically its badmoon yellow over white undercoat followed by a yellow/brown wash (sprayed lightly over the whole model) then I used snakebite leather to weather in the gaps and added the boltgun metal to create chips the same deep yellow colour can be found using golden yellow with an ogryn flesh wash from start to finish they took around 2 hours each, quite simple really fast and effective
Skull_Lord
Exellent painting, but IHMO you need some more metal on the tanks, like the Whirlwind launcher uhhhm.. "holder", for a lack of a better word. Also the spiky dozer think on the Razorback, other than that, amazing.
Frost Knight
very nice although you need a librarian smoking "lightning"
