i like the basing, is that cork or bark that you used?

Hi guys,

In brief:

The materials list:

Thin extruded Styrofoam (sold as the ceiling tiles here, 5-6 mm thick - seems like you have the same material called Depron, but I may be as well mistaken, since we don't have Depron here)

Ordinary Styrofoam (for base)

Carpenter's glue (made by Henkel - looks like PVA, but yellow in colour)

Household acrylic paint (white) with colorant added.

Car paints in aerosol (black - little bit glossy and grey - matt)

First I made bunker walls out of extruded styrofoam with roof etc (the roof is detachable allowing to put the minis inside the bunker).

Then I glued the bunker to the base made out of ordinary styrofoam.

After that I covered the styrofoam with acrylic household putty and covered the putty with sand.

I let the putty dry then covered the bunker with the carpenter's glue.

When I covered the styrofoam with glue I noticed, that in the process of drying he glue didn't form the even surface (the same's in case with paper, wood, etc. but formed some uneven surface gathering in a sort of irregularly located drops (check and you'll see).

I spread the slightly dried glue with a piece of styrofoam tile forming the texture slightly more.

After the surface dried I covered all with acrylic paint mixed with a pigment.

After drying I covered the stuff with aerosol paints several coats, giving the preference to the grey one.

After that I covered the base with one more coat of household acrylic paint + colorant (this time it was brown)

Took me several days (about two hours of work actually with most time spent on drying of glue, paint etc.).

Now I just need to paint the staff a little bit more (as well as most of my minis).
