DGC
Hi to all. First off, let me say I don't often visit the dark side of the B&C forums but needs must <_< . I hope this topic is in the right place, if not then please move it to where it should be. Let me also say I don't own the Chaos Space Marine Codex so that is why I am here. I am building a small diorama for a competition at my local independant stockist. So far I have a Space Wolf Dreadnought breaking through a ruin with a small squad of Grey Hunters in tow. What I want to add is a small squad of Chaos Marines as an opponant on the other side of the ruin. Visually I don't want them to take away from the Dreadnought which is the main componant of the competition so a fairly plain or dark style would work well for me. I have considered the Black Legion or the Iron warriors as I have the parts for a normal chaos squad and I also have the champion up-grade sprue and mutation sprue if that helps. The help is needed as I want to model them as they should be used but don't know what their weapon options are. If it is of interest, I have both chaos Boltgun and BP/CCW bits to play with plus a chaos Heavy Bolter and some chaos Plasma Pistols. I have the beserker legs as well as normal ones and some Chaos Marauder parts (shoulder pads and flails/heads etc). So can anyone help with the squad options and do you know of any good painting guides for either of the two chapters listed or one for any other that might fit the bill Thanks in advance - DGC Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/150791-help-needed-with-a-chaos-squad-for-a-diorama/ Share on other sites
Rob_Loken
Hello there how big is the squad? If you only number 5 then you cannot take a Heavy Bolter. But unlike weakling Imperials you could give them a flamer or meltagun or Plasma. Hope that helps and that I haven't broken any rules. Simplest technique for Iron Warriors is to basecoat them with Boltgun Metal and then give them a wash with either Badab Black of Devlan Mud to give them a gritty feel. You can then go back and highlight with BM or Chainmail. The trims should ideally be a darker shade of gold, closer to brazen brass than burnished gold, you should start with a mixture of Scorched Brown and Shining Gold and then build it up toward the edges. ++edit++ Never mind I should learn to read properly.
