chaplain belisarius Posted November 1, 2008 Share Posted November 1, 2008 i really like the weapon options for the basic chaos marine (it suits my tactics perfectly). I have decided to do my own renegade army(or possibly get iron warriors for the fluff or black legion because of the cool paintscheme plus i can use abaddon). my army are the murder legion and they are led by their evil chaplain angrus blitz (power weapon, bolt pistol and mark of tzeentch to represent rosarius). the paint scheme is red with black shoulderpads and backpacks, metallic weaponry and i plan to use a mix of chaos and imperial marine models. my rough 1.5k list is; angrus blitz; pistol, crozius arcanum, rosarius (counts as mark of tzeentch). squad murder; 9 renegades with 2x meltaguns, asp champ with powerfist and bolter/melta combi weapon. in rhino. led by angrus blitz. squads carnage and despair; ten renegades with 2x meltaguns, asp champ with powerfist and bolter/melta combi weapon. in rhinos. 2x vindicators (i like vindicators!). 3 obliterators. any thoughts or comments on this? does the list suit black legion or iron warriors better? thanks! Actually it's starting to sould like red corsars , model and paint scheme, anyway. The list is fine except for squad murder, they can't have 2 meltas b/c the have only 9 members, must have full 10 to get 2ed special weop. Except for the chaos lord having MoTz instead of a wings it could be one of my BL list. But it could just as well be a IW's list. I might just take 2 Obliterators (that seems to be the magic number) and use the points for Daemonic Possession on the Vindicators and maybe upgrading the Power Weapon to a Daemon Weapon. No an IC joining a squad doesn't "change" the # of the squad as far as getting special weops goes, b/c he is not really a part of the squad. The RC's don't have blk shoulder pads so it's a bit different then RC's. Minigun's suggestions make sense, D. possession on vindi's make them mucho better. D. weop would make lord much more dangerous too. chillin Posted November 6, 2008 Share Posted November 6, 2008 I would do the chaos army of doom as discussed above, using csm and s/m bits mixed together. That way you could use the chaos dex sometimes or use the BT dex to represent your renegade army sometimes. Just have to swap out a few models that might be specific to one side or the other depending on which dex you are using that day. Of course, this won't work if you want an actual BT army, paint scheme and all, but will wk if you just want to use the BT dex and fight style.
