metcalfedan
For the next marine, I'll take pics of stage by stage painting for you to see. After one wash it's still quite pale so you could do that for Grey knights. I painted some GK Termies for my friend (in exchange for some spare bitz) and used a light wash, makes them look great! docbp87
Stunning! Frankly, this is also probably a more accurate portrayal of what marine armour would look like. It would be fabulous to see an entire army painted this way. I am Legion
actually I was at the local GW yesterday watching the staff have a game of fantasy. One of the guys was playing some tzeentch or slanesh guys, and he did the same thing, only with purple. It looked amazing, he had terrible luck though. just kept getting hammered. got nice and frustrated, but anyway. The chaos knights on horseback looked particularily amazing. So as a full army it does look good. I think the model looks better than it does in the picture. metcalfedan
Do you plan to varnish them? Currently, no but maybe for models like HQ's and independents etc. For a bit of variety. lt.rasczak
Great looking marine. I tried out the scheme on a marine helmet on one of my kroot bases and it looks amazing. I used Leviathan purple instead of blue and it turned out really well. I don't have any pictures yet and even if I did they wouldn't be allowed here. I might trying doing a whole marine soon if I have the time. Thanks for the inspiration and I look forward to seeing more of the metallic crimson fists. AngryJohnny
I love it, they look fantastic! That is the best Crimson Fists scheme I've ever seen. You should do your Sternguard that way. :P Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/151098-viva-metallica/page/2/#findComment-1765497 Share on other sites

You should do your Sternguard that way. :P I will be after this tactical squad is finished. I'm also planning on painting a squad of Soul Drinkers using Leviathan Purple instead of Asurmen Blue to go with this army. Brother Argent
Ah Ha! I see a colour scheme for my Ebon Drakes forming! A nice metallic green for the bodies... Maybe some solid colour for the shoulder pads... Or maybe something else metallic. Thank you for this, you've saved my Chapter... AngryJohnny
Fantastic! You're using the current GW washes for these over the Mithril Silver? I may have to do test mini in my Chapters color scheme. Keep these guys coming they look amazing! I'm eagerly awaiting the step by step on your process. Be sure to post the soul drinkers too. I checked out your Legio Squad in the WIP & the Purple is going to look incredible on an entire marine. All of the colors you've done look great. Kuchinawa
I vote for your Pedro for being one of the coolest I've seen. Really nice job. I really thought the red was too dark, but after looked at it again, it seems to look perfectly with the model. Colonel Shofer
Hi, I tried your recipe, not to good effect, the MS just went dark blue with a little sheen (I did have some success adding bolt gun metal to the AB) :) Are you multi-layering, diluted MS? Are you using diluted AB? Lovely colour. CS Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/151098-viva-metallica/page/2/#findComment-1765991 Share on other sites

Thanks for the replies guys, I myself can't wait to get the rest done. Ompfris
Awesome way of painting - I'm just about finished painting one copy catting your crimson fists :( Its so quick and easy - the only thing I found was to be very careful not to overlap the washes. (Did my Chest Eagle in Sepia tho.... kinda a brassy gold look) Thanks for posting your work! Ompfris
Please post a picture, I'd love to see the way you did it. Gee I hope that was directed at me ;) No where as good as yours; of course. As you can see he isn't finished (anything which isn't armour), I dont think I've made his blue dark enough tho. I've been trying out so many differn't painting styles since I've joind up on the B&C Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/151098-viva-metallica/page/2/#findComment-1766967 Share on other sites
